What did you guys think of the Jonny Quest remake?

The only thing I can remember is that it had to absolutely terrible CGI sequences. And I can't even remember why. I think there was some kind of virtual reality thing they would go into, but I'm just guessing.

Obviously we missed a season here in Poland.

I remember liking the fuck out of it when I was 7.

Very good and strong season one. Multiple deaths on screen from gunfire, ghosts, animals, drowning, hypothermia... bad cgi, decent plots and lore. It was a great reboot that proved to be too expensive in the end. That's why season 2 was such a drop in quality.

This thing had a maturity and rawness to it unmatched in a non-adult cartoon to this day. It's a genuine anomaly in western animation.

Undersea Urgency is still unmatched. It would adapt perfectly into a horror film aimed at an adult audience.

Because the first season was presented as a reboot, unconnected to the 60s or 80s series.

Then season 2 retconned that and it became a sequel to the 60s series, but ignored the 80s series. As a consequence, "the real adventures" in the title now made no sense.

Yeah, the one where Jonny etc. had a rock monster sidekick and fought mutants. It's the version that spawned the 2 TV movies (Jonny's Golden Quest and Jonny Quest vs. the Cyber Insects).

The TV movies introduced Jessie, but she was the daughter of Race and Jade, not Race and whoever that scientist woman from Real Adventures was.

I remember liking the show, but I was very young so couldn't actually remember any of it besides the CGI Questworld bits. CN used to cut their commercials using the Questworld scenes almost exclusively - pretty sneaky, considering they were often only the final minute of an episode.

I remember watching it in middle school and thinking it was kind of neat. I do remember some of the one-off villains getting killed off in some brutal; like the elephant poucher being impaled on the ribs of a elephant skeleton. Obviously they didn't show it but it was heavily implied.

Show was great but the CGI did NOT stand up.

Biggest episode? "Ghost Quest".

Johnny and Jessie were possessed by ghosts of individuals that looked like them as adults. In the end, they kissed passionatedly while possessed, and stay in that possition for a moment after the ghots leave; then they gasped.

I would have liked to see them in a real relationship in this series, honestly.

It's funny, I always misremembered the first Jeremiah Syrd episode.

I had recalled that his being paralyzed came from being subjected to his own nerve gas. Violent, but not TOO violent.

Rewatched the episode recently. Nope. Not how it happened. Race shot him in the fucking NECK. That's why he's paralyzed.

This show is even more violent than I remember it.
