If you just want some basic entertainment that's fine and if you want something that's terribly pandering like the panel you posted, then that's fine too. I think Waid is focusing too much on the Time-Travel aspect of Kang and not enough on the Conqueror part. Kang doesn't "feed on time" or whatever, he uses time-travel in order to conquer more shit.

Waid's one of those old school guys who believes the story should always have exposition for new readers.

I don't know if he just doesn't think about the recap page or if he's writing for other media that may not have it. Either way it seems redundant, though it would be necessary at a company like DC that doesn't have recaps. (DC comics sometimes don't have *enough* exposition.)
