>Spike
When will he die? Sooo tired of him and the Chinese dude is getting on my nerves too, just have Marissa as the token human with random Government stooges and get rid of those two.

Also I don't want GI Joe to be the next EDC/Skywatch/random antagonist government group, I liked Sitterson making them their own group independent from the US Government.

I guess Flint and Mainframe can show up from time to time (mainly because I am curious about the whole Flint and Marissa connection and because Mainframe had an interesting relationship with Soundwave in Revolution, also he needs to meet the other Mainframe wherever he is).

Just get rid of the shit humans and keep it TF focused and I'm cool with it.

OK NVM apparently I continued reading and Flint said they aren't with the Government, still I feel like Barber has done this to death.

Just get rid of Spike, I can't stand him.

Is this the best Wreck-Gar's ever been?
>>
>>88885249
Not sure if he's better than Animated, but if he isn't he's damn close.
>>
That was a pretty great issue.
My only real quarrel with it was the art the first few pages which was incredibly cluttered and Talons weird, unecessary monologue throughout the entire issue, it carries on even during the portions exclusively featuring the Cybertronians. It just felt so out of place and weird. Like the issue would have been perfect without it.
Anyhow, next issue will apparently be centered around Soundwave and Thundercracker. Two best boys with one stone.

So what's going on with the Junkions?
>>
>>88879958
Huh? Aren't they made out of a composite of many different beings being cobbled together? Why would they have specific gender identities? Or is this just Aileron assuming about other cultures?
>>
>>88890074
>Why would they have specific gender identities?
Why wouldn't they? They use different body parts from different sources, but that doesn't make them composite beings with different minds running around inside their heads.

Also, the creatives have called Rum-Maj a woman, so the Junkions do have specific gender identities.

Millions of years of developing societies of lifeforms that don't even reproduce sexually in isolation and they all mimic how humans interact with each other. It was far more interesting back before Dark Cybertron where it was a homogeneous group and pairing were uncommon in favor of the importance of group dynamics.
>>
>>88891005
Pairings are STILL uncommon, both in-universe and out.
>>
>>88879883
God I love this book, that Sky Lynx panel is so good. Only complaints are Junkions are kind of hard to distinguish in a page, and more GI Joe than I'd like. But the pre-war stuff, the Prime adoration the colonists have, Wreck-Gar, TC and Marissa touring the world... So good.

The Prowl has returned, at least in flashback.

What a good issue: Prowl, a great representations of the Junkions, a good story for Jetfire, the art in the flashback, a hope for Sideswipe, TC, Marissa and Buster...

Optimus Prime has become my favourite Transformers comic.
>>
Why did Prowl even punch Jetfire?
>>
>>88896712
Which is why it will be fun.

Although knowing TC and Flint they'll probably get along too well for Marissa's comfort Flint would probably tell TC all sorts of embarrassing shit about her too.

I'm a little worried about TC.

I have a possibly stupid question: is this comic actually drawn by hand? And I mean with little or no digital stuff.
>>
>>88898432
I think so.
The lines are probably done in actual ink and paper and then scanned.
I don't know, I'm only judging by the artists twitter. She doesn't seem like the kind of person who draws digitally.

How come? He's in a comic not written by Roche or Roberts and he's one of Barber's favorites so I don't think he'll be dying anytime soon.

>Prowl hits a handcuffed prisoner so hard he bleeds
HA! Wow, I guess that one anon isn't here who used to freak out over Optimus hitting Prowl under similar circumstances.
>>
>>88900780
Well, at least Prowl has never spoken for nor against police brutality so it's not entirely absurd.

Optimus on the other hand...Well, he hit Prowl less out of "I'm a police and you're out of line" and more like "We used to be friends. How the fuck did you turn out this awful?"
>>
>>88900780
are you that same salty anon that was bashing anyone who liked prowl
>>
>>88901177
What does that have to do with hating anyone who likes Prowl? Though I do note you use past tense. Did someone hurt you? Hurt you bad enough that you turned on Prowl?
>>
>>88900847
Well he does think they are corrupt, though that doesn't mean he disapproves their actions, just their motivations. We already know Prowl has no qualms doing some very dark shit as long as he can justify it in his head. Then we wind up with issues like not knowing if it was Prowl or Shockwave who destroyed Junkion since it sounds like something either would come up with.

It could be said that perhaps they are doing this with Prowl because of the reaction to when Optimus hit a prisoner. Of course people would still say that it is a huge difference to have Optimus do it. BUT - this is IDW where Optimus recently accepted Galvatron's surrender by shooting him and then tearing off his head.
>>
>>88902041
>Then we wind up with issues like not knowing if it was Prowl or Shockwave who destroyed Junkion since it sounds like something either would come up with.
They probably both came to that "logical" conclusion.

That was one hell of a solution though.
Optimus killed him because he was unsalvageable as an individual. Galavtron would have just sowed more chaos and gotten more people killed.

I don't know, it was more an issue of the big bad warlord from ancient times, the Prime killer who heralded the exodus from Cybertron of the Original Thirteen, who escaped the Dead Universe on more than one occasion. A bot who has stood before armies and won.

Then he goes out like a punk bitch. Not sure if that was fitting or a letdown. Seemed more like they didn't know what to do with him for the upcoming event so they just swept him aside.

This is IDWverse. It makes perfect sense for them. Hope is a lie, nothing nice ever happens, etc etc.

Maybe, MAYBE, Optimus had some kind of mitigating circumstances unknown to us, something from the visions he was having, but since that plot point has fallen behind (maybe due to the crossover event) who can say.

Right now if I had to give him an excuse, however meagre it may be, Galvatron is not the person you want hanging around or on your team when Onyx and possibly other Primes show up. If any hope (LIE) for peaceful resolution or co-existence exists Galvatron will not stand for it. He's been gunning for the original Primes since near the dawn of time.

And curiously, or not, that is exactly the kind of decision Prowl would have made.

>I think some people are distressed because it doens't make him unique
Most people i've seen, well really the ONLY people i've seen distressed over Optimus, are distressed because he's not nice and has become super manipulative. They want the soft and gentle Prime of most other incarnations but that's obviously not where IDW wants to go with him.
Honestly i'm here for it. I unironically think Bayverse Prime is fun because of how fucking crazy he is.

The only real problem I have is that he's meandering quite a bit. We already had Optimus become Orion Pax and then learn that he's Optimus, the True Prime, destined to restore the good name, but then he strays from the path again and again and ends up having course correcting epiphanies like his recent one over how he has been treating the Earth and how he almost sacrificed the Microverse (and may or may not have sacrificed Micronus, hard to tell what is going on with these mythical Primes).
>>
>>88880022
Got to love those giant sunglasses. I wonder if he asked the president for a pair as a reward for saving her life.

>>88879798
It's curious how all of the colonies, whether Original Thirteen or not, have had female Cybertronians while Cybertron itself hasn't for so long nobody remembered they existed until recently. The implications of some kind of purge are pretty damn high.

Does Junkion having female transformers now raise issues with it having been destroyed in the past, before they meet the colonies again?

Really not sure if Monstrosity is worth reading to get more insight or not.
>>
>>88903222
>but then he strays from the path again and again and ends up having course correcting epiphanies
This.
I completely agree with this. I love IDW Prime but boy does Barber insist on making him his own enemy. I hope his messiah complex character arc dies quick because there are enough exterior threats to keep the reader entertained. On the bright side these issues have reminded me a lot of early exrid S2 which I loved.
>>
>>88903555
I suppose if I had to defend it, there has been a certain consistency here. When Optimus returned to being Orion Pax it wasn't just because of his divisiveness as a war figure, or just that he'd grown tired of the burden of leadership; he had developed some intense doubts about his own worthiness. Things like Rodimus saying that his bonding with the Matrix felt really good while for Optimus it was apparently painful, as if it were resisting him.

Then at the end of Dark Cybertron he gets his groove back, accepts that he's THE Prime. From that point on the mystical shit (never exactly absent but certainly growing more intense) was running wild. He's a god figure to the colonists, he's having visions, destiny keeps rearing its goofy head.

Now he's had Prowl in his head and who knows what that lingering presence means. Oh, and another dark prophecy of doom and gloom, Onyx Prime is returning, and his herald Sentinel/Infinitus just ran around on a killing spree and throwing everything into jeopardy again.
>>
>>88902823
This, besides if he spared him and Galvatron later fucked over someone even worse we would end up having "Why doesn't Batman just kill the Joker?" type threads except Optimus isn't just a vigilante and he is in a position where others depend on him for survival.
>>
>>88903555
Wasn't there a reboot of the universe at some point?
>>
>>88880011
I wonder where Blackrock is. Last seen supposedly having Prowl of all people escort him back home.

Who the hell thought that was a good idea? Oh, right. What the fuck, Fort Max?
>>
>>88903752
Yes and no. Shockwave collapsed the universe during Dark Cybertron but they fixed it. More or less.
>>
>>88903757
Blackrock is going to be in Revolutionaries with Kup and Action Man.
>>
>>88903741
I think the problem is it is more satisfying an answer (to those people who have a problem with what is going on) that Optimus spare a life and live with the consequences as opposed to just going, "LOLNOPE" and tearing a guy's head off, then plunking it down in the White House lawn.

And not just for the head ripping but where he put the head. That isn't exactly a gesture of peace and good will likely to put the humans at ease. "Remember that guy you were working with who was kind of a dick? This is what I did to him. Don't make me have to do something to you too."
>>
>>88903925
Not sure if that is a relief or not.

So when does it start?
>>
>>88903752
No, the IDWverse has been going on uninterrupted since the series started back in 2005.
>>88903891
Incorrect. Shockwave sacrificed The Dead Universe, not the regular one, in order to fuel his plan of collapsing the latter. That collapse never actually happened though, meaning there was nothing to fix. See above.
>>
>>88903936
>Not sure if that is a relief or not.
Seeing how Barber is making that his wacky fun crossover title who knows? They're going to team up with ROM and fight the Oktober Guard and then get involved into some weird Transformers shenanigans with some Heart of Steel bots (yeah I have no clue what Barber is doing there) while teaming up with Snake Eyes and then the new Cobra Commander is going to be introduced there.

Going by how Action Man was it should be fun at least.

Reminder that IDW Optimus has been self-doubting and flip-floppy since early days. It's his thing compared to other Optimuses and it constantly pops up all through IDW
>>

>I think the problem is it is more satisfying an answer (to those people who have a problem with what is going on) that Optimus spare a life and live with the consequences as opposed to just going, "LOLNOPE" and tearing a guy's head off, then plunking it down in the White House lawn.
I bet you those exact same people would still complain, they would just criticize Primes poor judgement instead and whine "how didn't he see that coming? He should have killed him when he got the chance". IDW Prime has a lot of haters.
>>
>>88904098
I assume the Hearts of Steel bots are just THIS series's version of some Hearts of Steel-style characters and not the actual characters from THE Hearts of Steel continuity, because that would open up a whole weird can of worms.

Hearts of Steel canonically takes place in a universe that includes the X-Files, Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Crow, and a trans-dimensional visit by Cthulhu.
>>
>>88903963
>Incorrect. Shockwave sacrificed The Dead Universe, not the regular one, in order to fuel his plan of collapsing the latter.

How is it incorrect if you're going to say the exact same thing only adding in the tidbit that Shockwave sacrificed two universes instead?

Shockwave literally collapsed the universe until only Cybertron remained. Earth, Nebulon, giant alien captains with stupid hats - all of them gone. Shockwave became the indisputable master of all time and space, bending reality to his will, only so he could destroy everything except for Cybertron. BUT they made it better.
>>
>>88903736
Prime actually has really great development.
>>
>>88904259
>Shockwave literally collapsed the universe until only Cybertron remained.
Except he didn't. He STARTED to, but he never actually did it.
>>
>>88879798
Oh neat, Wreck Gar
>>
>>88904319
Anon, he did. He collapsed everything around Cybertron. He was master of time and space, that's why when Megatron declared himself an Autobot Shockwave was surprised enough that he lost control allowing Optimus to call forth his old friend from within Shockwave's temporally disjoined mind. They undid the damage when they destroyed the device.

There was no, "Whelp, he only collapsed 10% of the universe so it's cool, we still won!"

And yet you argue that "Whelp, he only collapsed 100% of the universe so it's cool, we still won!" happened

If Shockwave had actually managed to pull of his plan, there would have been absolutely no way to undo it, because everything would be fucking frozen in time and space. Obviously that didn't happen.

What part of destroy evil machine, undo the destruction did you not understand? After all, Shockwave himself pointed out he was destroying nothing, not really, he was merely causing the universe never to have existed in the first place - all to fuel his eternal Cybertron.

He was literally the focal point of what he'd done, he'd linked his mind to the machine. He had Optimus kill him to destroy the machine and RESTORE the universe.

Marty, you're not thinking fourth dimensionally.

That's what happens when you screw with time and space. You can, you know, undo it.

Heaven forbid anyone actually read the damn issue in question. It even opens with Cybertron's past/present/future all rolled into one. It's not merely being poetic when that is literally what Shockwave has done.

>We barely have TF threads anymore.
We were having almost daily TF threads during the summer thanks to Revolution. Shit has really slowed down since and it's probably due to the general lack of hype for Lost Light and exrid has always bothered some people.
>>
>>88887437
It's the art for me honestly. I think it translates better on paper.
>>
>>88903094
>We barely have TF threads anymore.

That's actually a good thing, now we're not as drained as a general on hiatus. Discussions are lively, even if they're not completely positive and now we have a great issue.
>>
>>88904563
That actually answers >>88904526 unless you're really not getting this through your head.

You may not like it but yes if someone is fucking with time, believe it or not you can unfuck it. This is like basic time travel story material. How are completely unaware of it?
>>
>>88904589
>That's what happens when you screw with time and space. You can, you know, undo it.
I'm nor arguing that, since that's obviously what happened in the comic. Shockwave's plan STARTED to happen, what what did happen was reversed.

However, Shockwave's plan was to FREEZE TIME AND SPACE FOREVER. You can't undo that. You have no agency in that situation. Since the characters had agency, Shockwave's plan had obviously not completed. This is simple logic.
>>
>>88904610
I cannot see that as a good thing. It means there hasn't been enough to sustain interest since TFP went off the air. Certainly not RID2015. The comics are trying, but most of them are reduced to mere storytimes and often die shortly after they are done. We're lucky if we break 50 unique posters. Maybe, MAYBE, the Hasbro Comic Universe can help but it is still in its infancy and this thread hasn't exactly been so stellar.
>>
>>88904642
TFP had more discussion because it switched wildly from great episodes to shit episodes in later two seasons. RID2015, like Rescue Bots, has been a constant decently quality ride and that doesn't generate much discussion.
>>
>>88904637
>However, Shockwave's plan was to FREEZE TIME AND SPACE FOREVER. You can't undo that. You have no agency in that situation. Since the characters had agency, Shockwave's plan had obviously not completed. This is simple logic.
His plan was to bind time and space to his will. He was going to have Cybertron eternal using the energy of two universes. And he'd already won. Unfortunately he found it harder said than done and eventually they were able to restore the old pre-Shadowplay Shockwave enough for him to be horrified that he literally broke the universe. Then he sacrifices himself to destroy his machine and undo what was done.

You act like he wanted to freeze everything and turn it into a bauble to set on his metaphorical desk and feel really proud of. No, he actually turned himself into a reality bending god.
>>
>>88904670

I don't think you'll find that is a statement with universal agreement behind it.

Who has it worse in terms of people they get attached to?

Not really. Even with the cartoons, the theads have never sustained enough discussion to last say three threads a week. Infrequent threads are fine, besides the only four subjects we have are either
-Cartoons
-Toys
-Comics
-Movies

and two of those are a bit more discussed on /toy/.

Also considering the disappointment of Roberts' finale, it's hard to be excited for the other TF runs.
>>
>>88904686
Soundwave remained loyal to a cause and a leader, now both have been ridiculed and crumbled. If he were in a porno, he'd be getting mind-broken from the suffering. Arcee comes close but she's like any other soldier getting the shits. Soldiers have soldier friends who die near them, and Arcee's not unique. Soundwave lost all his friends and the will to move on, before Optimus blackmailed him long enough to give him a new reason.
>>
>>88904675
>You act like he wanted to freeze everything and turn it into a bauble to set on his metaphorical desk and feel really proud of.
Because THAT WAS HIS PLAN.

Shockwave took "we need resources" to its cold, heartless, unfeeling, ultimate logical conclusion. THAT is a basic storytelling element that YOU seem to be misunderstanding.

>He was going to have Cybertron eternal using the energy of two universes.
Uh, no. He plan was to use ONE universe to do that. The Dead Universe's energies were used to kick start the whole process, not to actually provide energy.
>>
>>88904689
You clearly don't remember TFG in the good old days of just five years ago. We had plenty of talk and to spare. At worst things calmed down when TFP was on hiatus but even then you could still find TFG. YOU may not have found anything to appreciate, apparently others did not.

When the ride was over, though, people eventually got off. The comics just couldn't sustain things.
>>
>>88904642
Quality of content does not automatically guarantee discussion on /co/, unfortunately. Thunderbirds Are Go has been hitting it out of the fucking park and /co/ couldn't give two shits about it.
>>
>>88904725
I only remember /tfg/ four years ago when it was daily, yet low key enough that whenever /co/ would have meta discussions about generals, no one seems to know that there's one for Transformers, and they'd continue getting pissy over /frz/, /hsg/ and so on.

Anyways, those days in /tfg/ would usually have image dumping as bumps and Tarn slutting, etc etc. I'll admit that /tfg/ has improved in the recent years thanks to actually being infrequent in popping up, but asking for it to be a daily thing will not be a good thing in th elong run.

>If he were in a porno, he'd be getting mind-broken from the suffering
You know I'm almost certain I've seen at least 3 mind-break doujins featuring Soundwave while browsing Pixiv.
>before Optimus blackmailed him long enough to give him a new reason.
Poor guy can't stop rebounding. He even dumps Ravages death on Optimus out of fucking nowhere, so much so that even Optimus is confused. It's like both are trying to force a bond on eachother and is's so fucked but I love it because they're my favorite characters and i'm a sucker for these sorts of dynamics.

He flat out says he only wanted this universe as fuel for Cybertron. You think Megatron and Shockwave are talking about the Dead Universe? Here's a tip: they don't care about the Dead Universe! He is using the Dead Universe to collapse their unvierse. Only one universe has enough power to allow him to do that to another. Everything parked around Cybertron, which even you grasp was the only thing he was trying to preserve.

What you aren't getting is that until Shockwave completes his conversation with Optimus and Megatron there is still a natural flow. That is the way his mind is working. Shockwave has the power, he has the mastery over time and space. The Dead Universe is toast and he is unstoppable - until they managed to reach Senator Shockwave who gave them the opening they needed.
>>
>>88904785
It also helps that this is literally what things looked like around them. Time and space all jumbled up but centered around Shockwave who was controlling it all.
>>
>>88904785
Why are you supporting some of my points while simultaneously trying to deny them?
>>
>>88904820
If that is what you are getting from this then I don't think I can help you.

Especially if you're the person who claimed 100% of the universe was being consumed, because it was never 100%. It was always about Cybertron.

As far as I can tell you're confusion stems from two concepts. Shockwave's plans has layers. Collapse the universe around Cybertron, put it all into himself. He collapses it around Cybertron as he merges his mind with time and space. He just never gets to the point of getting rid of everyone but himself. He's in the process of it, I suppose, but let's face it he's gotten stuck in a classic villain rant that gets turned on him.

He's already spread himself into time and space, which is how they reach his old self. When he allows them to kill him his mind is no longer in control. His will is no longer altering reality, reality snaps back. What was undone, ha, well the undoing becomes undone. The machine explodes in a much smaller singularity because every evil machine should have some kind of pizazz when it is defeated.
>>
>>88904783
>tfw Soundwave is so loyal, everything could go to hell for Optimus, and his troops and former friends could leave him but Soundwave probably won't go anywhere because he has absolute faith and loyalty in those he serves.
He suffers way too much for being such a good boy.

>>88904642
Personally I think it's a good thing it's not a constant general. Have you seen generals that are up constantly? They mutate into some tripfag circlejerk or descend into who can shitpost the most, or both at the same time with image dumping in the off hours.

>>88904997

>>
>>88905011
That doesn't make any difference, but yes.
>>
>>88904930
Never but that's probably because Soundwave has never liked Screamer.
>>
>>88904930
No, I don't think he's voiced his concern about Starscream so strongly in the comic. The jerk's been in the army from the start so everybody probably just got used to the two and their lovers quarrel after a few thousand years. Megs was grooming Starscream to be his successor anyway, so Soundwave probably just kept his mouthplate shut as he figured Megatron knew what he was doing.

Plus Starscream being the designated punching bag meant nobody else had to be assigned the job, which boosts morale.

>When the Heralds of Unicron destabilized the space bridge nexus in Aurex 402.24 Gamma, causing the space bridges to become windows to other dimensions, Jetfire caught a glimpse of Optimus Prime and Prowl.

>Turns out the Optimus Prime of Viron 1103.12 Gamma was female! When the Sky-Byte of her world accidentally turned all of Earth's energon toxic, Optimus Prime and her troops had to downsize into new Spy Changer forms to survive, much to the amusement of the Predacons... until the Autobots blew up the Predacons' pure energon and the bad guys ran out of energy. Optimus's nemesis Scourge was the only villain that made the shift to a Spy Changer body, but she too was defeated by Prime's army.

>Optimus Prime and her cohorts Prowl, Ultra Magnus, and Ironhide were later plucked from their universe and stranded on a frozen planetoid, a side effect of Rhinox's device that blocked Unicron's attempt to kidnap Transformers from multiple dimensions. These stranded Autobots were targeted for 'recruitment' by Reptilion but rescued by the Children of Primus. During the battle, Optimus took charge; a Prowl was left bemused taking orders from someone so short while Optimus was distracted (and annoyed) by his constant statement of what attacks he was going to do.

>Optimus and her crew appeared to stick around for the Universe War.

It was stated a few times, one in AHM and later in one of the spotlights when Megatron comes back to beat the holy bejesus out of Starscream for running the Decepticon operation into the ground when he was temporarily offline. I think Megatron gave up on him for being useful for anything by that point as Starscream showed he couldn't lead shit to the point the 'cons were eating each other to survive.

Left to his own devices Starscream would have had Cyberton blown up 200 times over by now if he didn't have the council and Windblade to keep his stupidity and ego in check. He still managed to ignite the Combiner Wars anyway though.
