OP of the now-dead thread here. For me, it's the frustration at seeing the potential for a good story that progresses the comic's characters and develops them in a manner that actually makes them remarkably different from how they were.

This comic has been going on for six years, and the most progression its characters have had is that Joyce is losing her faith in God, Amber is a psychopath, and a bunch of other characters had sex.

Ruth's legacy of not knowing what was going on with her residents at all and being completely incompetent will probably not live on in Dorothy.

Other than the fucking misnomer that Ruth was doing good, I like the direction of the conversation in this strip. Bullie's being a big dumb bitch to everyone, and should stop. Ruth sucked at her job, and the existence of people wanting to replace her won't speed up her loss (and that's disregarding how hard she's trying to get fired on her own). Bullie can't even muster an explanation of why she's mad about it.

I guess that last panel is supposed to be Dorothy feeling bad (it's pretty much the same as Bullie's face), because, like Roz said, she's being "perfect" and people are responding negatively. She shouldn't feel bad, though, because Bullie is just being an irrational bitch.

Panel 2 reminds me that Willis took out that bonding moment from the Ruth's reveal sequence between Walky and Dorothy. So instead of them having gotten closer in a moment of high stress, Dorothy is still being emotionally boxed out.

Yeah, it's totally retarded. I don't know why she let Roz's line get to her. I don't know why it's bothering her so much, especially with Billie, whom she knows is a huge mess. Walky is the only character I can think of that would cause her to think she's in a bad spot, and only if he used her "perfection" as a reason to not open up to her. And he wouldn't because he generally likes how smart and conscientious she is.

Also, Dorothy has messed up several times over the course of this strip, and has noticed it. Mostly around treating the people around her poorly. There's how she didn't break stuff off with Danny soon enough, and then hung around trying to use him unfairly. There's how she reported on Roz's sex scandal without thinking about Roz's personal freedoms. Then she accepted Joyce's offer to accompany her to the party to make good on a real article, at which Joyce was roofied. In a semi-related incident, she drank at Joyce's party, pissed her off and didn't communicate afterwards, and almost had that be their last known memory because of the shooting. She made Walky feel incredibly small about himself in gender studies class because Mike was needling her using his slobbiness as a point of shame. And these are all things that Dorothy has acknowledged as fuck ups. Just because Billie is an unrepentant tire fire of a human being doesn't mean that she gets to lord that over people. Seriously, what kind of world is this.

Also, pic related is Dorothy not showing any remorse for having aspirations, something that she has apparently dropped.
