If you really want to letter yourself, your best bet is to either make your own font (pretty hard, but saves time) or typing it out with a similar font and then lettering over that on a different layer (easy, saves time over lettering by hand, more legible). Lettering is its own artform and if you aren't going to assist yourself, you may as well pay for it.
