I recently downloaded a file with a buncha MST3K "special features" on it, like vintage specials and press stuff.

There were a bunch of vintage interviews he did with MTV News and Space Ghost Coast to Coast and in all of the, Joel came off like a humorless prick.

Like the interview would ask a jokey question such as "What's it like, living in space" and Joel would say something like, "I don't know what you're talking about, I'm just an actor, I don't actually live in space." And the interviewer would table any and all "fun" questions for the rest of the segment.

Same thing in Space Ghost, where Joel straight up says "I'm not going to play along with you, like I'm in outer space with you or whatever."

He always comes off like he has Aspergers or something in interviews and either doesn't get jokes or won't play along with the interviewers. How he became a comedian, I'll never understand. Apparently he was hell to work with.
