Will they bounce back with quality comics in 2017?

Neither comic company will ever produce a majority of comics that you will enjoy.
You're just that old now, Anon. You can't enjoy their mindless cheese the way you used to.
It happened to me in the late 80's.

This is exactly what I think every time this comes up. I understand it when people have legitimate-sounding arguments (the art in Squirrel Girl IS terrible, for example) but posts like OP just sounds like "why aren't they pandering to ME, reeee".

When I was 9, I could go to the pharmacy and just pick up an armload of 20-25 cent comics and simply enjoy the hell out of myself.
As I grew older, I found I was growing more particular. The little guys were eating up the Liefeld and McFarlane, but none of their works did anything for me, I was more interested in Mignola and Moore.
The Big Two should always cater to the young crowd.
IDK, maybe comics will come back to their former glory, sadly we all have different definitions of good, though, I want Marvel to go back to Dark Reign/ Marvel Now 1.0, where change mattered and there was a book for every demographic. Maybe 2017 will shock Marvel back into quality, maybe Marvel will triple down on events and variants because that's what makes money these days.
All I can hope for is Marvel fires half their writers and brings in new/good talent, and for Editorial and Marketing to take their dicks out half way to make more creative room for writers and stop making events that halt everyone's books.
Also, X-Men rights to revert so we can finally get some good video games and Cartoons again.

That's because there are too many differences between comics and you can't like all of them. They're meant to reach different audiences. I don't need to like a majority of different ones, just Superman, Batman, and a few others. Superman's doing great right now, but not Batman. Oh well.

I don't think Marvel will be "good" again until the comics are no longer mandated to act as marketing for the movies. It restricts what writers can do considerably, and makes everything feel homogenized and dull.
Maybe Disney will loosen up on them, or maybe it won't happen until the superhero movie genre declines, whenever that may be (after the Infinity War movies?).

Nah senpai. They'll just continue to churn out meaningless massive crossover events, pander to SJWs who don't buy their books, and inflate their sales numbers to make it seem like their business model is doing SO well ...

Sure.Bendis is writing Defenders

There's your problem.
I've enjoyed the vast majority of what I've read from Dark Horse, Fantagraphics, Archaia, Oni, Z2, Comix Tribe, and probably some others I'm forgetting.
