I guess. They didn't do much with these characters. Writers are a bunch of hacks.
They do have quite a few things in common, but at least you can tell Hunson loves Marceline, even if he's not very good at showing it.

i mean aren't all the princesses basically the same character?

Some are more evil than the others.

I'm pretty sure Flame King didn't eat his daughter's fries

I'm pretty sure that one is made of fire, and the other is a Demon.

All the princesses are evil. Some just let it show more than others.

In as much as they reflect the daddy issues of the writers.

I just think it's weird they did the whole evil parent wants reluctant child to take over the family business dynamic twice with two different characters, and both times it's a female protagonist with the parent in question being her father.
Like it's the exact same setup.

He fried his daughter's eats

They are on a surface level, but when you see the episodes they're involved you can notice some differences between the two characters.
This said, post-S4 Adventure Time sucks so it doesn't matter anyway.

>Both are rulers of an evil-looking, mainly maroon, cavernous place
>Both wish to pass down the rule of their evil kingdom to their daughters
>Daughters don't want to be rulers, nor do they want to be evil
>Both use force to try and get their daughters to be evil rulers regardless
>Doesn't work and results in the plan backfiring
>After this both just kinda stop being in the show
Aside from the fact that they're different species, yeah, they're literally 1:1 the exact same characters.
I'm sure there are several non-background characters that share this trait, though. These writers aren't exactly what one would call "good" or "competent".
