I was talking to my cousin the other day, he's a big Star Wars fan and has been since the original trilogy came out.
He unironically told me that he thinks Hera Syndulla is the worst twi'lek ever designed because she's not hot, and this means she fails to live up to the only purpose her race has.

In the franchise I follow, one of the unused character designs of a character eventually end up as a character as well, becoming an enemy of the character she was supposed to be. Basically one big meta-esque story about the character stealing the character's position without breaking the fourth wall.

If it's anything lucasfilm related, they get endlessly recycled down the line. Half the stuff in the prequel material are based off unused concepts from the others, including Jango Fett. That bitchy female senator from Rebels is based on a costume design from ANH.

Rebels is sorely lacking in hot female characters.

It didn't tone down the violence and darkness as people feared a Disney SW cartoon might, but they definitely turned down the sex appeal of female characters from TCW. You wouldn't get a character like Aayla Secura in Rebels, I miss my multicolored tits, hips and buttcheeks.
