The only two people he's done that with are Paulo and Augustus.

In the case of Augustus, he assumed he was going to try and force himself on her. The key point here is that Daisy assumed the same thing and Augustus does nothing to try and clear it up. He lets himself be seen as the bad guy.

The Abbey vs Paulo think getting as bad as it did is partly due to Daisy not doing a thing to stop it.

As for the jealousy, you're not following me, go back and read it. He's jealous that Paulo can embrace his negative aspects, his vices, and still have friends and still have people enjoy his company. His worldview is black and white, deep down he wants to let go and get a little wild, eventually drinking at the part is a small example, but he's afraid of slippery slopes I guess. Since forever if you pay attention to the comic. Personally, like I said way before, I think him leaving the table is the best choice he's made during his entire time in the comic. Hopefully he will grow from actively making some more friends of his own and stop being such a tight assed fuckhead.

Avoiding them altogether is best thing for him and he could maybe build some self confidence and strength of character because Daisy, despite what all the characters in the comic think is not a good girlfriend and not a good emotional support. She can barely even look at herself in the mirror without having some kind of breakdown and swivels her head for any guy that even looks at her like he's maybe sort of possibly interested.

Abbey and Daisy just being friends instead of in a relationship makes sense considering Daisy's lingering feelings for Mike (which Abbey got stupidly slapped for mentioning despite him being correct) and Paulo. If Daisy wanted to get back together she should have resolved those feelings already.

When she didn't, well, this happened. Instead of leaving a mature note like before, she made Abbey burst by keeping him there with guilt of no one else wanting to be with him (and again, that's wrong when we look at Jasmine) yet undermine his feelings ALL of the time.

A new group of friends is what Abbey needs to get better.
