I was gonna add "looks badass, maybe kills a big name" to the first part originally, tbf.
All 3 movies after Infinity War depend on Infinity War portraying Thanos as someone you want to see more of, if he doesn't WRECK the Avengers in uncharacteristic "oh shit" fashion there's no point.

the ycan always say it was part of his plan in the end, and if you know Thanos, you should know the gems/stones aren't his endgame but rather a tool to his endgame which is and it always being court death.
As long as they don't turn him into a mindless brute or a quipper they can still get him right.

the thing that scares me the most about Thanos in the MCU is that he can be many things but funny is not one of them, Thanos should never be funny (intentionally at least) something really consistent about Thanos is that while he can be very emotional, he is the mad titan after all, he is also very dry and pragmatic and never takes anything lightly, hell there are more occasions in which Thanos has shown mercy and empathy rather than humor.
