Does any other artist do cross hatching as well as Crumb?
like he could have been a netherlandish printmaker with his rendering
I always wished he had finished this one.
Crumb does Trump
Please keep posting these images. They're amazing.

You got it but I hope some more anons contribute soon. I'm gonna see an upcoming show of his at David Zwirner in NYC. The only other cartoonist to make it that far in the "fine art" game might be Dan Clowes for his MCA exhibition.

What makes these is that they're photos of the drawings, and not scans. I mean, they can be scans, but they haven't been so adjusted that it hides things like variations in black areas and white out on some lines. These are not only beautiful, but educational as well.
Not as great as OP's, but I enjoyed Evan Dahm's cross hatching in Order of Tales. His illustrations of Moby Dick have the same style of them.
OP here, taking a break from Crumb. Bernie Wrightson is also crazy at cross hatching. Particularly his illustrations of Frankenstein.
