Aang can only bend classical elements, and Ben's aliens are either resistant or empowered by them, plus he can create slimes and acids, both of which aren't bendable in the avatar universe.

Hell, even Aang's signature ability, energybending, wouldn't work on beings from outside his universe.

It would have to be pretty high in water content, considering that blood bending is very hard to impossible for most and that's working with something that's roughly two thirds water.

Of course, the difficulty in blood bending could instead be attributed to ensuring their target isn't instantly killed by having all their water ripped out of them. In that case, I'm not sure how much water something has to have to make it reasonably bendable.

The fire nation had a lot of tech that upgrade could use, not to mention the world adult Aang lived in was advanced as fuck.

More importantly though, even without, upgrading things, Upgrade would still be really powerful against Aang. Upgrade's nigh indestructable to anything Aang can dish out. Doesn't need to breath, seems to be extremely temperature resistant, and let's not forget, super strong. Upgrade was one of Ben's stronger aliens, not as strong as say, 4arms or Diamondhead, but also stronger than say, Ripjaws or even Canonbolt if memory serves.

And, let's not forget, upgrade can shoot lasers, decently powerful ones too.

So you have something that can't be drowned, frozen, burned, suffocated, or even really beaten up, no blood bending, probably even no ki bending, that can shoot lasers, which Aang really has no defense against aside from dodging or throwing up some rock shields.

The only thing Aang could really do would be to try and contain Upgrade in a stone prison, and then Ben could just instaswitch to Ghostfreak or Waybig, based on the conditions people seem to have agreed upon here.

Now, lightning bending might be effective against upgrade, but Aang can't lightning bend, and I'm not even sure about that.
