I don't think Meyers wanted Trigon. There was a video interview of him doing some art for Teen Titans. And he talked about not wanting to do retreads of past stuff. He made some comments about Starfire's age/maturity and I think he almost spoiled the Aqualad reveal.

I feel mixed. I liked the campfire part of the book, especially Wally and Raven's interactions with each other, with Wally being genuinely interested in Raven's powers and Raven smiling as she showed them to him. I also liked that the colorist made Raven's skin paler because she looks better with it. The book is also a better teen hero team book than Champions (though that's not really a hard task to accomplish).

On the other hand, I just don't feel that interested in reading more. It's hard to place why to be honest. Maybe it's because while I like most of the main characters and their interactions with each other (I say most because I'm still not sure how I feel about Damian), I don't find the actual plot that interesting or investing. Also the ending feels pointless. We all know Damian is going to permanently go over to Ra's side. This is either going to be a trick or they're going to find some way for him to leave Ra's side and back to the good guys. It's just a cheap twist to surprise readers and to make them buy the following issue to see what happens.

Damian is the driving force as to why they've come together, with the threat tied directly to him, of course the opening arc is going to focus on Damian initially. The following issues most likely give more space for the rest of the team now that he's gone to Ra's on his own.
