The director wants to make a run of 3 of these movies also. I hope it happens but have doubts that a bunch of c-list characters will be popular enough for that.

The Guardians of the Galaxy were c-list also. Yet Marvel was able to make a movie about them and it was a smash success and there is a lot of hype for the sequel. GOTG showed that characters don't necessarily have to be very popular in order to get a hit.

GOTG became popular because it was a satirical space opera that was something different then the typical superhero movies.

The director wants to make this a horror movie, if he does then I think it could be a hit. It could do to horror what GOTG did to Sci-Fi.

Well it's understandable why people didn't like him. Having the power to speak any language isn't the most exciting superhero power. It's great in a real world sense because you can talk to animals, aliens and computer programs but it's hard to show that in a comic and make it interesting.
