I've noticed on this board some people really like Danny Ketch and prefer him over Johnny Blaze. So what I'm going to ask is: why? Did they act significantly different from each other or something? Danny was like a white trash version of Spiderman. His origin story was his sister being shot and sent into a coma (then later killed) and he was out for vengeance.

Blaze, however, is more traditionally a man on the run - The demons are coming to collect his soul, and he has to outrace them or lie low. Danny, however, has more understandable motivations.

Danny was Ghost Rider, when comics were at their peak sales wise, GR was a juggernaut and Johnny was his sorta powerless geek sidekick who whines all the time which he still does to this day

Danny himself was a pretty much an everyman non character but him and Ghost Rider had distinct separate personalities something which is completely lost in the new Johnny, Alex and Robbie versions, seeing Danny's niceness overtime slightly wash over Ghost Rider is one of treats of the early parts of the 90's series

Johnny was pretty lame. Most of what people associate with Ghost Rider comes from Danny, and then Johnny co-opted all of it after the fact and because Johnny was the "original," everyone started associating the things that made Danny unique with Johnny instead so Danny just came off as a lame rip-off despite it actually being the other way around. The metal look, the spikes, the spirit of vengeance, those are all Danny.

It's basically they Barry/Wally problem. Barry wasn't anything special and it's Wally that people think of when they think of all the things they like about the Flash. But then Barry came back and took all of the things people liked about Wally for himself so people started associating all that stuff with Barry and forgetting about Wally.

First of all, Mania did not come from the worst arc of Venom, because the worst arc of Venom was clearly the U-Foes arc.

As for why there may appear to be an obsession with Mania, there's a few reasons. One is that I and many others do think she was memorable, that she was a really cool character with a lot of potential. Another reason is the look. Andi and Mania have this cool goth/punk look which I and others like.

The third reason is probably how Marvel has treated her. Unlike the other teen heroes (like Kamala, Sam, Miles, and Robbie) and other webslinger characters (like Silk and Spider-Gwen), Mania was basically forgotten after Agent Venom. She never got a push, never got her own mini or ongoing, and was never put on a team (though Cullen Bunn, her creator, did plan to put her in Fearless Defenders but that got cancelled before that was able to happen). Marvel basically forgot about her existence for years until Robbie Thompson brought her back in Space Knight (which also got cancelled). So basically Mania is a character that a good number of people like but has been treated pretty badly by Marvel and not given the exposure that people think she deserves. So Marvel making a new Fantastic Four with Robbie in it and putting Silk instead of Mania comes off as stinging to some, as they feel Mania would fit well on such a team and that it would have been a good way of giving her exposure and increasing her popularity. Personally my headcanon is that Andi is currently busy helping Flash track down the Venom symbiote so I'm letting the fact that Mania is not part of this new FF slide. However I do agree that Mania would fit better in a FF that has Robbie Reyes in it, because him and Mania would just go together much better in my opinion. I do hope that in the future that Robbie and Mania do meet, because I would love to see how they would interact with each other.

Miles Chulk and Kamala past wasn't dug into problems and issues of them. They basically had origin stories that can be summarized as Twilight level where they are just average but well like. After Miles got his powers things get rocky but thanks to a reality reset he is way to disjointed to be seen as anything other than a black Spidy.

Wiccan is just rather boring in general and got cursed that because he was gay so most writers just don't write him as anything other than young gay teen.

I liked the original ANGR a lot, mostly from a visual standpoint. Ghost Racers was alright too.

This new GR run, I dunno. We're only an issue in and it's hard to judge on that alone but when half of the book is taken up by another character and it feels like it's going to turn into another legacy teens team book, I don't have high hopes.

I just wanted wandering supernatural shenanigans on the West Coast again.
