He's a weird. He has talent in singing and an ok range in voice but his writing is basicly shock gags and pop culture heavy. Meaning that his about as talented in writing as a local stand up comic.

His old cartoon cartoon episodes werent too bad and the short that went on to become family guy also seemed solid. If you judge his work by later fanily guy and stuff like that cartoon cavalade dvd or his 100 ways to die movie your description is accurate but he always seemed pretty hit and miss with his hits being really great. Sometimes people just look at his current material so it is easy to forgot that he has done a lot in the past those same people have loved.

I wouldn't call him talentless because I really like some of his stuff, but it's REALLY hit and miss, and when it's miss, it's shit. His movies, for istance, are terrible.

Seth is talented. He's pretty much a comedy genius... but he's too one-dimensional. He spent years working on his Family Guy pitch while working on shows like Johnny Bravo.

Family Guy was popular because of it's comedic timing with jokes and the fast cuts and cutaways were what made them so good. But then he got lazy and never really tried to do anything outside of his usual. Even Ted is a rehash of Family Guy.
