Shows can drag stuff out but honestly movies on this stuff seem to skip so much stuff like characters instantly changing personalities or events being on fast forward. Anything involved with counting down or collecting items generally is better in a show because movies montage past intrresting things far too often.

He didnt do that good of a job with Jims voice honestly, especially every single play scene. There is a huge difference between stuttering because you cant remember a line and plainly extending the pauses between each two words.

That's not an American thing. That's a some Americans thing which is not the same thing.

Each house has its own rules with regards to how long and where shoes should/can be worn indoors if at all and the only global rules (other than obvious shit like don't track wet boots past the entrance area) only apply to other people's houses and are you ask at the door if you see shoes there if you are supposed to remove them and outside of that situation ask if you can be allowed to remove them.

Reminded me quite a bit of miraculous ladybug so far. Very cliched very by the book and nothing really stand out but at the same time it has a certain charm to it and the setting is unique enough that it gets away with it. Also top tier waifus and twinks for the queers. Also its actually pretty damn good looking for a 3D netflic animation. The art style is very nice and you can see the influenve Del Toro had on the monster designs and the somewhat darker tone.
Only on like episode 6 so far.

Aside from how they had portals to the human world and such, no magic weapons or armor. The trolls were always just the things in the closet, and under bridges. And in sewers. Their world had magic, but they couldn't manipulate it, nor could Troll Hunters. Troll Hunters made their own armor, and usually had weapons passed down the family line. Their skill was somewhat supernatural, as if came from instinct rather than training. Jim was a badass like Jack after he got used to the weight of his weapons. Some sort of an "inherited prowess" deal.

Pretty decent entertainment, not great, but good enough. Anton Yelchin really can do a high schooler voice without sounding like an adult, which makes his death all the more tragic because he really became a decent VA for Jim by the end of it. Tobes was comic relief, kind of wish he wasn't, but he got some of the more sentimental moments not to mention that rage finisher in the finale, so he got an unexpected pass.

Claire had her moments, but she was kind of boring whenever they made her The Girl rather than someone who decided to go full weeb-mode about Trolls.

Aaarrrgh had decent development, and I'm shocked how much I was worried Blinky wouldn't return to his original design by the end.

Angor Rot was cool, and I like that despite how we get a glimpse into why he might be a tragic figure; he is not presented to the cast as anything other than an evil Mayan modern machine.

I feel like they dropped some Draal stuff. I really expected Jim to tell off Kandijar or something about team dynamics, which would've led to the finale conversation a little more naturally, but I suppose it needed to be earned that way it was.

Like 7/10.
