To those who don't know any better they're just some cheesey 80s band because "Rock You Like a Hurricane" is something of a meme song in pop culture, but they were a great and influential band in metal and one of Germany's best, they were home to some legendary guitar players like Michael and Rudolph Schenker and Klaus Meine was a great vocalist

That being said, whether they were better than Megadeth objectively or not is a matter of taste, different bands from different eras and influences, but in any case I'd be quite shocked if Scorpions weren't an influence on Megadeth
