A new issue came out this week, so let's read some Usagi!

Plus a bonus story!

Nii is my favorite new character because of his cute eye spot.
I hope he doesn't die horribly.
>>88627164
Looks like Usagi is going to stick around this village for a while. He's been hanging out with Ishida a lot recently.

Neat, thanks for the deliver OP.
>>88627314
Moider! Oh no!
>>88627355
>>88627382
Has anon ever eaten fugu? Would you try it if you had the chance?
I'd stay far away from it.

Lest you forgot we were in glorious Nippon...
>>88627570
Poor kid.
>>88627598
Time for a happy story!
So now he writes Usagi Yojimbo with his new wife.
>>88627625
>>88627598

Hehehe, i love the japanese and is "honour".

>>88627727
The end.
I just read the second page, and I wonder what Stan's new project will be.
Spoiler for the next issue.
>I just sent in the cover to Usagi Yojimbo 161: The Body in the Library.
It's a Kitsune story. And Ishida is there. She is fuuuuuuucked. You can't con that guy.
Bump for the readers, they will come...eventually...i hope.
>>88627952
It's just a quicky today. When I do longer storytimes we usually get a good thread going for a day or two.
Too bad I'm busy next week or I'd do a big holiday storytime.
>>88627598
HONOUR!
>>88627038
>>88628165
I will never not laugh like an idiot at that.
>>88628014
Looks like an average mutant in 40k.
>>88627405
I have. It was back in 1989, in 'Tokyo Town' in Los Angeles when I was with some friends from the UCLA anime and gaming club getting some fresh bootleg anime tapes from Hawaii.
I don't like raw fish. I don't like very EXPENSIVE raw fish. But the flavor was magnificent, even if I don't dig the texture.
I'm uncertain if it can still be served legally in the Los Angeles county area, or anywhere in California at all for that matter. It was a really long while back.
As a side note, at a shop next door on a different trip I ate some chicken curry that was hotter than all hell. So good.
>>88627059
>after Stan announces and delivers another thrilling project into the world
What project do you think it is?
>>88627038
I am rereading Grasscutter, and it's amazing. The buildup of at least half a dozen plots gets resolved in the two-parter. I forgot how great of a pay off the whole thing is
>>88627815
She'll be innocent, though I don't expect her to be leaving this story with anyone's purse.
>>88627815
The Ishida train keeps on chugging.
>>88631701
Old dudes are consistently cool in this series.
Anyone got a link to storytime of the issue before this one?
Nice. Thanks.
>>88627382
Nice how the fish is drawn more crudely here.
>>88627598
Well, death pays for all and the kid is protecting his father from the consequences of his fuckup.
>>88627405
I remember that Simpsons episode about it.
>>88627625
I'm fairly sure there have been chibi Usagi stories before, even before Americans knew what chibi was.
>>88627405
I had some sushi and soup in Okinawa. It made my fingertips and dick tingle. It's probably safer to just get high instead.
>>88629408
My favorite subplot that pays off is the former general who became a farmer while hiding
And then it pays off again in Grasscutter 2
>>88635132
General Ikeda is a secondary character with a better story than most protagonists
>>88627038
Nice. Thanks op, i thought usagi was on hiatus because of Sakai's sick wife.
>>88635258
>because of Sakai's sick wife.
OH GOD NOT AGAIN
What malevolent deity is out to destroy Stan's smile?! You already took away his first wife and his grandson
>>88635286
no, anon is thinking about the first wife who's dead, so you don't need to worry about her being sick anymore
>>88627038
anon you are way too based for storytiming usagi.
>>88627598
sakai sure can craft some sad endings.
>>88627744
maybe he will finally revisit space usagi?
>>88627038
Always happy to see a Usagi thread.
>>88637025
Could be, yeah.
Or maybe it's an unrelated project like the 47 Ronin comic. Man, that was one of the saddest things I ever read, even with Stan's beautiful art.
Either way, I'm hyped.
>>88632342
I think it's dead, but I have some time so I'll post t again.

>>88627542
Shit kid! You got to run plans like that through somebody first!

Wait, what?
Talk about a rebound.

>>88639872
She's also an artist. But as far as I know Stan still writes his own stuff - except for the collab in this month's issue.
>>88639881
Well, fish is delicious.
>>88639917
It's the samurai way - kill first, ask questions later!
It's hilarious to me that Ishida came out a dead ringer for Columbo, but Stan says that wasn't even intentional and he never even watched that show.
Such is the power of detective tropes.
>>88627133
Ah Fugu.
You either live or not.
And even after they found what's making the fish so venomous (it's some kind of bacteria actually) and started to breed non-venomous, people are still ordering the normal ones just for the thrill of it.
>>88627405
I eaten normal sushi once.
Tasty. Even more with wasabi and soy sauce, but too much of a burden for my wallet.
>>88627164
>someone likes Nii for the same reason I do
My ronin. Also, he is a great Watson to Ishida's Holmes.
I never understand why /co/ gets obsessed with badly drawn webcomics threads instead of this.
>>88627815
It's about time someone slapped Kitsune's smug face for being a selfish bitch. Ishida is a good choice to do that.
>>88635132
>>88635228
Thirded. Ikeda is my favorite side character. I'm glad Motokazu is training to be real samurai now (and already did some impressive things), he will carry his father's legacy.
>>88627744
>>88637025
>>88639458
There is a Usagi Yojimbo Legends book in the works (Stan published the cover a few months back) which will cover, Saga style, all the previously published spin-offs, including Yokai (in color), Senso and Space Usagi. I have the money ready to pre-order it immediately.
>>88642146
That's nice to know. Glad I held off buying those second hand now. I'll be pre-ordering that when it comes out.
>>88627245
Usagi's fucking face in the second panel is too good
>>88637025
I'd be down with that; if I could have my pick though, it'd be a Western.
>>88627082
>>88643621
>It's A Fistful of Dollars with a few extra twists thrown in and starring Usagi
Cliche or not, I'd read the shit out of that.
>>88641944
They are free, easily accessible content with regular updates.
>>88642146
That's great! I still need those. Thanks for the info anon.
>>88641871
True. You have good taste anon.
>>88644531
same
>mfw Usagi confirmed to appear in TMNT 2012
>>88646042
WHAT
>>88646447
Yeah. But prepare to be disappointed. 2012 tends to waste good plot points by cutting them short, forgetting about them or dragging them endlessly.
>>88646447
Yeah, I can't wait. I wonder who will do the voice.
>>88644539
Usagi is known for regular updates (for the most part), though.
>>88648212
True, but that doesn't detract from why webcomics are popular.
>>88644531
I've always pictured it as Usagi rolling into a town with a corrupt sheriff that works for the local representative of a railroad baron. Where the sheriff can't handle the situation, they call in an unhinged bounty hunter/itinerant preacher to deal with the situation.
Hebi as the executive.
Fujii as the Sheriff.
Jei as the bounty hunter.
>>88649913
It would have to end with Jei killing literally everyone in the story because they are 'evil' until someone kills him.
What happened to the War of the Worlds storyline?
>>88651680
It concluded quite a while ago.semi-bad end
>>88644531
>>88645995
>>88649913
yeah, but Fistful of Dollars is a western interpretation/remake of Yojimbo by Kurosawa. Now we are just running around in narrative circles.
>>88653028
What about Usagi in Blazing Saddles?
