They know full and god damn well weekend premieres didn't work. They tried an Adventure Show / Regular Time episode premiere event for a couple Saturdays and when the ratings tanked they pulled it quick.


Now they're doing it again with literally the most important episodes of the show, and the BIG GRAND FINALE on a monday which has also proven to be a failure.

God damn CN learn to fucking BREATHE before trying to plan something, but you wouldn't know anything about BREATHING would you? Not with those 20 fucking episodes in 3 weeks!

It's going the regular route like a lot of series finales I've seen, but hopefully it's executed well enough.


Also the finale is rated PG-V like basically every other episode and the V means violence, so the small hope I had that they could get away with a cuss or something in the grand finale is practically non-existent.

I just hope they all get proper screentime, and whoever else may be returning. Gravity Falls did a shit job at basically everything in it's 2 HOUR finale, but not giving characters proper roles was one of the worst offenders and is a part of what made almost every other thing wrong.

Written off for good, under the guise of "taking a break for awhile". No one wanted to believe it except a few people who don't like her, but rumors were her VA said she didn't have a contract for future seasons, we expected her to be gone in S7 but come back somewhere in 8 but she never did and we're a few episodes away from the series finale, no one even talks about her after she's gone.

She did get silent cameo watching the park go to space though, so she isn't dead or moved away.

There's a few people on here who are at least OK with the wedding episode (or at least the wedding itself, excluding Mordo's speech), but the finale was good. I liked Rigby graduating. It happened at the tail end of the series so it's fine.

It's varying levels of obnoxious though to have the commentator stand in like herself praising certain aspects and dissing certain aspects. The "Wow! Wasn't expecting SPACE!" bit is kinda shitty but eh, it's just the team having fun.

Man, seeing this made me really bummed.

Not cause of the show ending but HOW its ending. Seven long years and it was all mostly... kinda bad. I jumped on this show hard because I loved the interactions of the characters and how kind of nuanced everything felt while still indulging itself in being over the top. (not to mention the novelty of another sort of primetime cartoon OUTSIDE of FOX)

Now after this kind of awful last season, seeing this just leaves a bitter taste from watching it grow in its humble beginnings. Mordecai and Rigby will be stuck either in space or in their dead end job after all this time and it'll barely feel like anything really happened with them (that movie really kinda soured their friendship for me to be honest) and it was all just to focus on a generic chosen one story with Pops of all people.

I can't even say or suggest what would have been a better alternative IMO but... if I had to, I wish it wasn't so removed now from that personal element and that they kinda stuck to their guns to developing these guys instead of having moments but then going back on it almost afterward.

The Lunch Club was supposed to carry over into the rest of the season where Rigby and Benson would chat sometimes and he'd try to be more mature around the park, and would actually get mad at Mordecai once when he wanted to play games instead of vacuuming the house. They were told changing their personalities this early wouldn't work, so instead they had Rigby graduate at the end for a "bettering himself" idea, but they still weren't allowed to have Rigby be OK with Benson, because it was the driving dynamic in the show, the slackers and the angry boss.

Oh wow, a hiatus! The only thing bad about the finale was the lack of promotion and moving the episode to 30 minutes earlier apparently. But RS still suffers triumphantly more in that regard because way more episodes went without being noted, and some episodes didn't even have "New Episode" at the bottom of the screen.

With the show ending I can finally summarize what I would change now to improve it. Not what I would have done differently, because that's disrespectful to the people who worked on it and their circumstances.

Like the first main arc ine the series being Rigby becoming less of an extreme bratty jerk after he realizes that this behavior has consequences. Like, "Skunked" is not him roiding out due to a skunk curse, but like originally planned the skunk stench just amplifying his already cranky behavior. He pisses everyone off and realizes he has to change. The other characters are still mad at him the next couple of episodes for consistency.

Thanks a lot. I really like those episodes. I was cautious as to where this was going but now I'm excited to see how it ends. When the Seer and Nielsen, and all the viewing platforms came in it got really cool. Regular TV is dying, just like Regular Show's universe. Everything can reset and live on in reruns unless Pops trays something new. Great metaphor.

The show taking the piss out of itself was the most meta thing I've ever seen a cartoon do. Really respectable that they commented on their weak points. Some characters DID deserve more development but not everything could be done in the end. Kind of cool. When Pops was out and the Seer started talking it really hit me emotionally. All those years of the show I've been watching and the characters all going through this makes me feel good for watching the whole thing. It it ends strong I'll have it be my favorite cartoon of the decade. Already looking better than Gravity Falls' finale at least.

The only show that would deserve this treatment for their series finale is TTG and that's because they got bottlefed everything they needed to become a """network hit""".

Regular Show is maybe the 3rd longest running series, and 2nd currently-running longest going series on the network, and it feels like they don't just not care, but anytime they 'have' to mention it that it costs them a fuck load of money or something. They go out of their way to not promote it, put it in a shitty time slot, and have people not even know if it's cancelled or if it's still airing episodes.

At least with Uncle G after the fake-out renewal, you knew when most of the episodes would air.

How do the baby ducks, Carter and Briggs, and Skips' friends even get there? Is this going to be that retarded 0% writing like in Can You Ear Me Now? where dead characters and characters that were lightyears away from their current location just showed up in the courtroom without any explanation? Does Skips just whistle and they all show up? Why Party Horse? This series finale already has me worrying like fuck that everything is going to be run of the mill.

What's the point of the baby duck fighter if Anti-Pops is the size of like 20 galaxies? Are they going up his shirt to tickle his under arms? The last resort was already shown, Mordecai and Rigby are alone in Mordecai's fighter jet and are going to go between the fists so I guess the Duck plan failed? Or maybe they really are in his under arms?

Mordecai's not getting with anyone because they made the bridges tangled, we already saw Mordecai's future with Margaret so they wouldn't try to spin it around like we don't know what would happen once they got together, and CJ coming back in the literal finale, end of the series, after 2 vacant seasons just to get with him would be retarded, not to mention they'd have to have time to settle in on "If you still want to be friends with Margaret I won't try to cut off your dick anymore" that they can't do in one sentence, not after getting it through she misunderstands almost everything and hates Mordecai's cheating on her moments.


Also they're never elaborating on High Five Ghost, JG said that himself. I would have fucking loved if they did though. If anything I could see the network guys not allowing it because they'd have to show death, and even with him coming back as a talking spirit they wouldn't allow it, not in post 2014 times. I'm having a hard time deciding if I'd take a Fives half hour special over Skips'.

I actually miss the relationship episodes. I don't know if it's stockholm syndrome or if I just have the worst taste but it was really fun while it lasted, for the most part. I liked Mordecai's awkward tendencies.

She's fine but Minty can't act worth a shit beyond reading a normal line. Her yelling in One Space Day at a Time and the Ear episode was grating as fuck, for instance. Back in the older seasons she was fine not just because she was a minor role, but because she never needed a reason to expressively say something beyond maybe a snicker. When she's too positive and happy it can be a little grating but overall it's just her yelling and singing (which was once I think).

King of The Hill comes on tonight at 8 PM. Adult Swim has officially shifted back.

It all makes sense now, they bombarded this season so they could put it in the worst timeslot so people would think it was an AS show. When the show finishes AS is back to it's time. Regular Show has to pay CN's retardation because since they still didn't push it fast enough and AS it already back to 8, the episodes premiere at Noon on a fucking Saturday as if the show is punished for not being ended yet. 6 PM is alright for the finale, but it should be a Thursday. Monday hasn't been it's own special night in so many years it's hard to count. Monday only matters when a show is bombed, which isn't every week as much as you'd think it is.

I wish they would've had more fun this season. It's nice when they're just chilling and joking. I get the stakes are high this season but for the majority of the first half they lingered on what would be coming and still didn't have them be too happy, more or less just suffering from whatever bad thing was looming over them.

Well, I remember when this show had a caring fanbase to where people would come up with fake episode titles and descriptions. I think back in Season 4 there was a fake episode title called "Flew the Coop" where Mordecai left the park and Rigby had to get him back. I remember being somewhat interested in it but when Season 4 ended and it never showed up I wasn't completely devastated.
