For those that followed the cartoon, there's a bit of a couple character changes.

Roxy and Jetta who fought all the time in the cartoon now live together and are basically best friends. Who fight all the time.

Also, new comer Blaze has kinda taken Stormer's role as the Nice Misfit while Stormer has become a less ambitious Starscream. If Starscream was dating Bumblebee.

It's great, but I will always yearn for a G1 Misfits comic until IDW gives it to me.

I know it's been divisive, more stylized art always is, but I DO really like Meredith's style. It has energy and personality and really allows for the more soap operaish story of Jem to get larger than life.

G1 Pizzazz was NEVER cute. She was an aggressive spoiled bitch with zero sense of self-awareness or understanding of what she was doing most of the time, and that made her one of the greatest characters ever concieved.

I just hope Thompson understands that.

But I'm gonna' hold out and see what she has in store.


Maybe one day these character will have a non-Marvel writer.

This version of Pizzazz is way too nice to be an antagonist but makes a better rock star protagonist than Jerrica does, given how Jerrica is wrapped up in like a million neuroses that makes her life more soap opera and less rock star.

I'm glad to see Pizzazz get more development than a Saturday morning cartoon show bad guy. The cartoon introduced a lot of STUFF with Pizzazz (her dad's neglect, her not caring that she won a major award if people didn't love her, etc) and never did anything with it.

This Pizzazz may be softer, but she can carry a story better imo.

G1 JatH has a love triangle that consists of a woman intentionally trying to seduce her boyfriend with her alter ego. That is the base level of OUTRAGEOUS as far as romance plots in the cartoon goes. About the only thing that could push to TRULY OUTRAGEOUS is a cross-dimensional romance between the same transperson with reversed gender orientations.

The consistent colorist helps maintain a visual theme for me across the different artists and books.
