Realistically speaking tho the phantom ring isnt super strong since it can only project one color at a time so its basically fighting a single red/orange/yellow/blue/indigo/violet or a suped up indigo lantern (but indigo can project black and white (?) )

Forever Evil and the later JL appearances of Volthoom show that the ring isn't just a ring. The way Power Ring recharged was opening a portal and letting Volthoom feed on the user.

Also, and the end of Wrath of the First Lantern, isn't heavily implied that the ring traveled to Earth 3. So, i guess this happened:

Now here is what i have problems understanding: What happened to Volthoom on Darkseid War. Forever Evil established that the ring opens a portal to recharge, but the ring doesn't seem to have an independent AI like the GL ring does, so i have no idea who was killed by the Black Racer.
