Doesn't really make much of a difference. Either way he was one of the best members of CA.

The funny thing is I watched CR way before I knew what TGWTG was. I stumbled upon his Sam and Max video on YouTube and went from there.
I first heard of Doug from his Baby Doll video.

I haven't noticed much change in his content since he left Channel Awesome, so I can't say it's made a difference.

Either way, CR makes pretty good stuff.

He also scratches a weird nostalgia itch on two separate levels. First, there's the obvious fondness that comes from revisiting /co/-related relics with genuine affection and/or curiosity (as opposed to a total wash of cynicism).

But on another level, CR feels like a walking embodiment of 2006-2010 /co/. Before we got obsessed and insecure with hating/loving Tumblr. Or political bullshit.

And his current videos still have a lot of the charm older Channel Awesome videos have, that most of their current crew have shied away from just for change sake.

I remember back when it was TGWTG, Doug did a commentary where he said he changed the style of the show because he felt it was too mainstream and that made it inherently unoriginal, as well as stopping 'his memes' because everyone else was copying him. Even though, he wanted everyone on the site to in the first place..
