Why do people have so much trouble pronouncing his name correctly?
>>88529461
What trouble? It's pronounced Ra's al Ghul.
>>88529528
No, it's Ra's al Ghul.
>>88529559
Wait, is that really how you pronounce it? I've been pronouncing it Ra's al Ghul this whole time.

God damnit guys, I made this thread because i wanted to know why people pronounce it as Ra's al Ghul instead of Ra's al Ghul.

I bet these are the same people that pronounce Mario as "Mario".

(Ruh-az al goo-ool)
Im so glad he got Lupa out of his reviews

Neal Adams always thought it was "Roz" when I heard him at NYCC so that's about as official as I can get. Of course I was raised on BTAS so "Raysh" is hard to let go. Arrow split it in the middle and does both but I can't remember their reasoning though I read it somewhere.
>>88529528
BTAS fucked us. From what I understand, it's supposed to be said "Rah's Ahl Gool" (is the demon named "Ra"?), but BTAS made that shit sound classy with their Raysh Ahl Gool.

When 900 years you reach, name not important as pit.
Holy shit, this thread sucks
>>88532992
this is the best thread I've read on /co/ all night
This thread is full of retarded casuals. It's Ra's al Ghul.
But how do you pronounce Ibn Al Xu'ffasch?
Royce All Gew (the last "L" is silent).
>>88533033
Ib-un all Zoo-fawsh
>>88533266
Correction, the Xu should be pronounced more like Ku, but with a more guttural sound like a Scot or Welshman would use.
So: Ib-un all Ku-fawsh
>>88529461
What are you talking about? No one has trouble pronouncing Doctor Strange.

Neil Adams also thinks the Earth is growing and the water is magically coming from nowhere.

"Luhsss."
Arabic for head of the demon so pronounce it like the Arabic word for head. R is rolled and the vowel is a short u with oomph with a nice hissy s.
Denny O'Neill said it was pronounced (Raish Al Ghoul), and since he created the character, he should know.
