Honestly, it isn't too hard to fix the story. The main reasons people dislike it is that Deathstroke jobbed to a young Batman and the fact that it was yet another Joker story.

Have batman be replaced by a black woman that's better then batman in everything despite having no formal training, it's high time little girls learn they can be like batman too

The whole story was way too complicated. I like the idea of Black Mask and the Penguin trying to get rid of Batman with assassins, and the Joker disrupts this plan, but having the "twist" that Joker was Black Mask just makes the assassin plotline pointless. Then you introduce Bane into the mix for no reason.

Speaking of the assassins, they were pretty fucking weak. How are Killer Croc, Electrocutioner and Firefly fucking assassins? And why does Deathstroke show up so early in the game with no buildup?

It seemed like they were trying to partially do Knightfall with Batman being worn down from fighting so many villains. Why not just have done that? Right there you get an actual reason for all of these villains to be going after Batman, Riddler is already part of it, Killer Croc is part of it, Firefly is part of it, etc. Though I guess that doesn't really work as an "origins" story, but you're already throwing Bane in so why the fuck not?

Ask me, I'd cut out Bane, Firefly, Killer Croc and Electrocutioner, keep the assassins angle but make them ACTUALLY FUCKING ASSASSINS and have them basically hunting Batman throughout the story instead of randomly showing up for a stupid QTE battle.

Then have Shiva and the League of Shadows be the surprise villains who were orchestrating everything from behind the scenes to try and get Batman to kill or some shit and come back to them.

Joker being a disruption would then make sense with Black Mask and Shiva now at odds and the Joker coming between them and Batman causing chaos.

Cold, Cold Heart was awesome, so of course keep that.

I would replace Joker with Red Hood, and create like six or seven side characters with different models, voices, faces that could plausibly be the man under the mask, have them be low ranking one or two line mooks or random civilians.

Red Hood becomes a part of Black Mask and Penguin's scheme to take down Batman, middle of the game we get the Ace Chemicals Red Hood scene in some form, end of the game involves the newly minted Joker crazed and lashing out at Black Mask and Batman.

That way we can have Joker's origin and sort of emphasize further that Arkham Origins is sort of where the gang crime era of Batman is ending to make way for the supervillain psychotic age.

The first game is mostly self-contained. They could've focused on Strange and Scarecrow if they really wanted to, but they wanted to drag the clown along.

Honestly, for AC, I would either only tease the League of Assassins while leaving more space and agency for Hugo, or cut them out entirely. They weren't too interesting in these games, so no big loss. Also, do a proper boss battle with Hugo before facing the Joker for the finale.

Arkham Knight did fine with Scarecrow. I would've just used his voice actor from AA and had at least one more Scarecrow sequence for nostalgia's sake. It was fucked up that Joker stole Scarecrow's gimmick.

There's a lot more shit to fix than that, but those are my main ones.

Man, I was so fucking tense the first time I got to that part of the game, not because I was worried Alfred would die but because I totally thought Bane was going to wreck my shit at any second. I was really disappointed.

I agree he should've been the main villain. I'd add that I think it would've been cool to take a page from Venom too - the original story written before Bane, where Batman tests the drug before deciding it's too dangerous. That'd be a perfect way to give Batman a cool new power-up item in the game, that'd have a built-in explanation for why he wasn't using it in the "modern" Arkham games. Imagine a sequence where Riddler (drop that "Engima" proto-identity bullshit hard, I can't believe I'm the first in the thread to say that) taunts you that this next gauntlet of death traps will be the most difficult yet... and you press X to pop a Venom capsule, punch through the goddamn wall and grab him ala TDKR.

I'd also have liked to see a proper resolution to the Penguin plot - you fail to save Alberto Falcone from him, and after he basically tells you "Go away, we don't want any", he never shows up for the rest of the game. The Arms Cache side-quest did not a satisfying conclusion make.

I'm actually more bothered for some of the gameplay aspects, and even more about Gotham's design.

What i would change of the story?, only taking out things that fuck Rocksteady's lore: Harley knowing Joker at Blackgate, change Black Mask for King Shark or someone else (Black Mask had a different background in Arkham City's tie-in comics, he was never supposed to be a mob boss).

I don't mind Joker being the bad guy in all the Arkham games or Deathstroke not being as strong as he's supposed (this is an elseworld, after all).

Arkham Knight is more than one man: some guard from Arkham Asylum (either any of the guards we saw in the previous games, or Lyle Bolton), Jason Todd and Michael Lane. Sadly, it would be like Mystery of the Batwoman, but it's the only thing i can come up with.

I would also take out the Cloudburst thing, i don't like it because it left a good amount of dead thugs on the streets, so who removed the corpses?.

In Akhman Knight you learn that while the Federal Government couldn't give a fuck about, say, the Joker murdering thousands and endlessly escaping, they made Anarky disappear without trial.

I remember making a big post explaining how I would've personally 'fixed' Arkham Knight. I covered a lot of stuff but I'll try to remember the big things I said.
The whole "Joker blood is turning people, including Batman, into Joker" is fucking dumb and silly. I think the whole blood thing should've been dropped and it should've been Batman hallucinating Joker after taking one too many whiffs of fear gas. We know that one of Batman's greatest fear is becoming like the Joker, so it would be great if he just keeps hallucinating a Joker trying to push him to become unhinged.
I think the Arkham Knight could've been a much better character than just Jason Todd. If it were to be 100% Rocksteady OC, then I suggested that it should've been an original Arkham Asylum guard. In my pseudo-fan fiction, I wrote that he would've seen all this criminals wreak havoc because they were just trying to kill Batman. Would they recover and be normal if there was no Batman? He would've also been there when Joker killed Jason, and Jason's final words (just like in the game) was the identity of Batman, so that explains how the Arkham Knight knows who Batman is.
After the events of the first game, the Guard would become a mercenary for Arkham City and become brainwashed by Hugo Strange/Ra's. But because the Guard already had a disregard for Batman, the "hate-Batman" brainwashing only made the hate grow stronger. So when the Guard saw his 'master' get 'killed' by Batman, he snapped and became the Arkham Knight (the name works because he was a 'knight' for Arkham Asylum and City).
I think this character would've worked better than Jason because it is original and if they delved deeper they could've made Batman question whether or not he was the problem/the person who causes all these criminals.

Sorry for the wall of text, I thought my formatting was good while typing.

Another suggesting is changing the Deathstroke battle. I know that's a huge complaint and virtually no one was satisfied by it so I'm not acting like this is a 100% original idea.

It would've been cool, in my opinion, if Deathstroke and Batman did hand to hand combat in the middle of the street. Just brutal fighting between two equally matched fighters. It would be hype as shit too if like all these rioters and gangsters kinda circled around them and started cheering and getting really into it.

Also have the criminals like Two Face, Penguin and Harley have more partnership together. The trailers and even Poison Ivy made it sound like they made this big alliance but in the game it just kinda seemed like they were doing their own thing. Maybe get Black Mask in there instead of him being DLC (which by the way, I'm still upset about because if that was the 'real Black Mask' he wouldn't have begged like a bitch for his life).

Scarecrow had a big character change, he went from this deranged, young sounding psychopath to a slow talking, methodical psychopath. It didn't hinder my enjoyment of the game too much, but it was just kinda weird. I know Killer Croc messed him up, but maybe just a quick line saying why he changed would've been nice.

Would've loved to see a lot of the villains mentioned in the first game like Killer Moth, Maxie Zeus and Great White Shark. Especially Prometheus. He was supposed to get his own DLC mission but got cut cause they had to do the PC fixes and didn't have enough time to do it.

Anyways that's the big things I would've changed about the game. Overall I had a blast playing this game and it's still good in my opinion, but it could've been much better and it's one of, if not the weakest game of the franchise.

Arkham origins was actually one of the better games. I would have made Hush a bigger part of the main storyline. I would have reduced Joker's role as "Black mask", simply because the real Black Mask is pretty menacing without the Joker in there. Bane was nearly perfect.

For Deathstroke, I would have made it so he "won" the first fight against batman, then have him come back later in the game as a mid boss or end boss.
