We just Ghira and Kali. There deaths wouldn't have any impact on the viewer. Qrow has too much information to give to RNJR. Nora and Ren won't get their meeting with Raven/the bandits this volume. Sun's death flag was triggered the second he showed up and was wearing the same clothes from 6-8 months ago.

Sun has nothing at risk in the current situation. The only thing really for him to do is to die for Blake's character development. If he had stayed with his team nothing would have changed. Blake would have still made it home and argued with those two guys about what the white fang did.

That's interesting, I always thought it would be a mutual lack of interest in romance. Ironically one of the traits they share is what separates them; they both believe in causes bigger than themselves. Weiss wants to be the head of the SDC so she can make it a more ethical company, and Ruby wants to be the best Huntress, like no one ever was. Neither career exactly leaves a lot of room for romance

Volume 1 with that stupid bullying arc and LOLMONTYWANTSADANCEARC was bad. Volume 3 was pretty restrained and seemed like a step in the right direction. He only showed up in select moments.

Volume 4, they're traveling together so it's kinda hard to not appear. He got his moment with the Pyrrha training scene but it seems like everyone will get their moment/focus episode though. With the foreshadowing of Nora/Ren and that symbol, even those 2 seem like they'd get a focus episode.

All this talk of Naruto reminds me of one of my favorite fics about the series and how I kind of want to make a RWBY version of it.

Basically, team RWBY gets mentally thrown back in time, and they have to find a way to get back to their own. The early twist is that they all came from different timelines, and they come into conflict when the issue comes up of what they should change, and if they should change anything at all. Maybe they should just have dicking around and trolling their enemies.
