A Moomin Troll thread.
I love the Moomins, important part of my childhood
>>88469883
Well, I feel dumb now.
>>88469952
What did you think Moomins were if not trolls?
>>88469996
Hippopotamus amphibius
>>88469996
No, I meant that I just didn't get your joke.
>>88470053
>Hippopotamus amphibius
Nope, that's why they have cow tails like huldra.
Fun fact: The three primary breeds of troll are the classic variety, gnomes, and huldra. Trow, while appearing similar to trolls are actually fey, an entirely separate mythological family.
I like Moomins, especially the cartoon. Even though it had multiple scenes that freaked me out as a kid.
>>88470256
Moomins was fucking horrifying at times.
>>88470546
I remember having truly horrifying nightmares as a kid because of morran
>>88469460
I like it. Moomin's on the Rivera was cute.
I'm working with someone to translate Moomins and the Comet (original animated version) into English subs with the Finnish dub.
Also, the Mymble's daughter (simply called Mymble) is adorable. And she's pretty thirsty too.
>>88469460
I wish every episode was dubbed, or even subbed in English or else I'll have to learn how to read Hebrew.
I read somethin about new animated series earlier this year. Does anyone know what's up with that?
>>88471007
Yeah, finding every episode subbed would be nice, but it's pretty difficult.
>>88471050
I hadn't heard anything about that. Finland's economy is pretty bad right now, so I wonder how they'd manage it. I guess maybe there's a demand and so they can license it?
>>88471050
I haven't heard any more news on that after they announced it, and I don't think they've released any images yet. Some article I looked up says that the first episodes will be finished in late 2018, or possibly even later than that.
>>88469952
>>88469996
Honestly when I was a kid I thought they were hippos

Do subs exist in a language besides English? If so worth a shot to try translating those
>>88471268
He's just going through his mid-life crisis and telling fake stories in an attempt to impress Snufkin.Moominmamma has killed, though.

Cute
I'm American so I'd never heard of the Moomins until I saw them mentioned online. The cartoon is so great but I've had trouble finding many of the comics and books. Anyone have download links?
Eastern European stop motion puppet moomins > that weeb shit
>>88473554
Shit < taste.
>>88474411
Are you saying that they have shit taste or that their taste is better than shit?
>>88471491
This is way darker than I remember Moomin to be.

>I'm working with someone to translate Moomins and the Comet (original animated version) into English subs with the Finnish dub.
I thought this was already made.
Do rips exist for the Moomin comics? It's something I've never found online, and I'd quite like to re-read the books I had as a kid...
The few stories I remember are the ones with the flood where they end up finding a floating theatre, a story where they end up in an island with weird little white critters who worship a barometer and get electrically charged from lightning (hence why they worshipped the barometer, it told them when storm was coming), and a long long long story I never completely finished, that has Moominpapas exploits as a youngster. They travel in a ship, manage to put it on the sea by tricking a huge monster to jump in a small lake causing a flood, they later make it up for him by giving him a fluffy cloud to lie on (the lake was full of rocks and it hurt him to jump in it), and later they meet some king on his birthday party who accidentally changes a couple of annoying birds into the small white storm creatures.
Also something about a comet but that was one of the later books I only read a part of.
>>88474569
oh, and at least the great flood story was parallel to the TV show, as in it looked the same and followed the same events in general.
>inb4 groke
The English translated comics were collected into some nice hardcover editions a while back, I was able to get them for fairly cheap and I recommend them.
>>88474663
It is too late.
Yeah I like Moon Mullins
This is where I remind everyone there is a Moomin world, where you can get married
Who would do this !

Does Moominpapa perform the ceremony?
Moomins are not for sexual.
>>88476920
Looks like its the scarecrow guy that does it, perhaps MoominPapa got defrocked sometime in a seedy past
>>88477070
You mean Snuffkin? I want Sniff to do my wedding.
