This is the strip where my opinion of Marx changed from Mary Sue to a very interesting character. Even though he is an "all powerful" dimension hopper, it's very obvious he didn't get what he wanted here. On top of all that we don't know what his end goals are aside from the GREATER GOOD. You also have to consider that we've encountered entities that are just as powerful, if not more powerful like the Lucranians or Eye. It makes me want to see more of what he's trying to accomplish.
Marx isn't my favorite character, but I like where his story might lead.

I don't like Marx, but it did make me hate him a little less for the mood whiplash and jarring appearance he did during his first appearance. I think Aaron's trying his best to make Marx more of an interesting character without cutting out his annoying randomness, and maybe it'll pay off and counterbalance the negatives to the character.

I'm somewhat optimistic for what else he'll do, but I'm still expecting the worst, can't say how he'll turn out just yet.

Aaron ingnores a lot about actual animal physiology. He handwaves it as mutations depending on how the person sees the animal rather than how they actually are. For example, Jim would be all about loving to raid trash cans instead of consantly rubbing/washing his hands like real raccoons.
