i thought king shark was just a guy whose nose and ears got cut off so he decided to roll with it and sharpen his teeth (which would result in something looking more like a tiger shark's, not a great white's) and call himself king shark.. because if you're going to be a shark you might as well be the KING of sharks

I don't remember this movie very well, but weren't they on high alert when they went into his cell, and didn't explain why? Maybe it is meant to hold his mouth closed, but he found some way to break it.

You're thinking of Great White Shark. King Shark is the half-human son of the Shark god.

Honestly I kind of prefer the AoA version the the traditional sharkman, since he's more of a Shark Hercules. Maybe letting him go wereshark when he fights would be a good compromise.

I'm not sure if he or Cheetah is more powerful. Cheetah is the avatar/sex slave of a god but King Shark is the kid of one. I guess he's half human so he might be weaker, though.

But King Shark fought Superboy and Aquaman, so he's pretty strong.
