So apparently Despicable Me 3 is coming out.
Does anyone even give a shit? Was 2 or 1 even successful? I'm almost surprised they didn't make Minions 2.
Even the porn isn't that good which is weird considering it has reasonable attractive female designs.

I'm still let down that the first one was just a fairly normal family movie. From the trailers I saw, it looked like it was going to be about a bad guy stealing things and living his ill gotten life.

The first movie was successful. That's why all that minion shit exploded in the media. The second one sucked because they added way too much focus on the minions and didn't come up with a decent plot for grue and the others.

1 and 2 were successful, the Minions only spin off was a disaster. So I can only guess they're trying the same formula as the first 2 movies and try to sell off the surplus minion merch.

Were you living under a rock? The minion spin-off was one the most commercially successful movies of all time and made a shitload in merchandise as well. So expect 3 to have even more minion bullshit.

Seriously. They come up with an original premise and then just flush it down the toilet for a tired as fuck "family before business" kids movie cliche.

I feel you on this one. Felt simmilar about Megamind. I thought they would have an epic 1v1 with metroman but it didnt happen.
>>88439129
You got ALMOST what you wanted, except the Metroman was a bootleg. The villain line in Despicable Me was a complete bait and switch since the focus of the story was something completely different.

Hey watching Jonah Hill get his ass kicked is worth the ticket price.

I was okay sticking with the family angle with the eventual payoff of the girls wanting to get into the family business.
But nah now Gru is a "good guy" secret agent.

>the Minions only spin off was a disaster.
It made over a billion dollars worldwide and beat both Zootopia and Inside Out at the domestic box office.
When you take into account how much cheaper to make it was than Frozen, Minions is easily the most successful animated film ever made and that's even with adjusting for inflation for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Wait, it was Secret Life of Pets that beat Zootopia and Inside Out. Minions came in just below those two films.
Still though, it did break the billion dollar mark.

Secret Life has surpassed Inside Out, but not even close to the billion mark yet.
