I'm convinced at least 80% of Lapis's popularity is just from having the best introduction of any character in the show, one of the best character introductions I've seen on CN in years.

Depends on what you look for in an episode.
In terms of character interaction this is certainly one of the stronger episodes.

One's similar to this that I love even more are Rose's Scabbard and Mr Greg.

Bismuth is also a favorite of mine.
