I only got through the first 2 episodes before it got to be too much. Watched it later when I wasn,t tripping. I might rewatch it on acid at some point, but I don't think watching it on acid adds all that much, partially because you can't tell if the plots really are as nonsensical as they indeed are, or if you're just tripping too hard to not make sense of it.

I can genuinely believe that psychedelics were an inspiration for some of the episodes, specifically the ending of Shakashuri Blowdown.

Yeah. Normally, I would say 'you're just being uncreative', but as someone who has done psychedelic drugs, the tone of Xavier in some parts feels a lot like being on a psychedelic trip. It's not like with Don't Hug Me I'm Scared where people are just going WHOA THIS IS SO CRAZY IT'S LIKE I'M ON DRUGS; Xavier legit captures that ineffable, psychedelic feeling where you genuinely don't know how to describe what you're seeing sometimes.

He'd know it wasn't unfunny if he actually paid attention to the script, Xavier has many jokes that are as close to "objectively" funny as you can get in the subjective field of humor. He's a dumby or at the very least rash.

The creator of this show said it shows the dangers of spirituality but honestly I feel the show shows the dangers of ideology in general.

Also, the show was definitely inspired by a, and thus parodies a lot of things directly involved with spirituality, but it is also inspired by, and of course parodies, a lot of things related to psychedelia.
