Because it makes no goddamn sense. Jimmy being gay is believable not just because he likes girly things but also because he shows zero romantic interest in the girls around him. Double D, on the other hand, gets romantically nervous around Nazz, and has exhibited attraction to other female characters (like Sarah in the pilot). Making him gay is stupid because it's basically saying "Yeah okay he's never had any gay moments in the show but FUCK YOU EDD X KEVIN IS KAWAII".
