Think Svengoolie, but for kids. This kind of show died out in the mid 1990s, but would've been a staple for the original Bart and Lisa who grew up in the mid-80s

Now, we have Krusty using his show to shill Christianity. Church attendance in the USA is at record lows, especially if you're a white middle class and above family.
