>>88346965

It's good, but TFA is better.

That midsection... it's the ugliest part of any Cap costume. At least the 40s costume covered it up with straps.

Also, the Avenger's A on his shoulder always annoys me, for some reason. If all the Avengers had it, I don't think I would mind, but just him having it..

Still, it's amazing that they managed to make the dumbest costume in Marvel pretty rad and justified it over the first two Cap movies (Avengers 1 justification was dumb and the costume was fugly). Most MCU "costumes" are natural aspects of the hero and their powers (Iron Man's armor, Hulk's body, Thor's Asgardian clothing). But Cap's costume in the comics really is just a dumb costume, yet they made it work.

No, this is.

I feel like after he changed costume the movie forgot it was supposed to take place during WW2.
There's certainly more they could have done to make things look technologically advanced but still seem as though they were designed in that era.

Give this the slightly bluer blue of the BVS/JL costume and it would be flawless to me.

Making the black waist & wrist bands the same blue was a big mistake in BVS.

TWS is the best though.
The Steve Rogers: Super Soldier suit it's based on is undeniable GOAT Steve Costume.
>>
>>88346965
I think his TFA one is better, aesthetically, but it's too overly military to work in the modern cap "superhero" context. So his AoU costume definitely works better for the time period in which it's set.
>>
>>88347234
Yeah, it was definitely the best showing of the X-cadet look to date, even if it was kind of desaturated.

Who?
I like all Spidey suits, but especially MCU one because of retarded webbing in underarms, lences that change their size from Spider-Man TAS to Spider-Man 60's cartoon, barely seen web that (for me) is reference to Spider-Man game on original PlayStation, and finally a spider on the back which looks similar to the one from Steve Ditko's art.

The way they translated the more outlandish elements like the eagle, badge and belt buckle to fit the setting while still keeping it a visually arresting design was nothing short of fantastic. Love it, love it to bits, although it certainly looks a lot better in motion to me.

Make way for literal costume perfection, Hellboy and Abe.

>>88346890
I kind of agree on the basis that they tried something slightly "different" but got it so damn right, they nailed the setting and the character so well at the same time. There's just something about TFA that makes me really like it even over IM1, that I can't quite put my finger on, maybe something to do with the 40's charm and gritty war feel that's reflected on the costume. Whedon should be punched in the face for giving Cap that ridiculous thing in the Avengers after this masterpiece.

>>88347701
But this one is criminally underrated. It's a comic book page that came to life. The same can be said about Deadpool's, >>88347105, the cgi eyes were a fantastic touch to an already perfect costume.

>>88347063
I also really like Batfleck because he was finally a dark an imposing figure on the big screen and I like Wondy's outfit too. The muted colours and Gadot gangly appearance don't do it justice, it's miles better than what I was expecting we'd get.
>>
>>88350988
>It's not especially like Wild Dog has a difficult or complex costume.

Neither does anyone else, it's all just colored spandex. The complexity happens when Hollywood production fucking dipshits think they need to add rubber chest armor and unnecessary textures and lines to everything

People at comic conventions put together shitty homemade costumes that look better than movies with a 300 million dollar budget
>>
>>88351131
>Whedon should be punched in the face for giving Cap that ridiculous thing in the Avengers after this masterpiece.

In context of the film though, it made sense. Coulson designed it out of a fanboy-fantasy trip. It was made to resemble Cap's propaganda suit. What he wears in AoU is the proper modernization of his WWII uniform.

>the cgi eyes were a fantastic touch to an already perfect costume.

That's actually what didn't like about the costume. The black bits were clearly hard plastic yet were moving with his brows. And the lack of iris and pupils bothered me to no end.

Why do people think the Amazon's top trait is being warriors? They hardly ever fight anything and are secluded from the rest of the world. It's called Paradise Island for a reason.
>>
>>88354399

Why do people think the Shaolin Monks' top trait is being warriors? Same basic thing. They're just like any other monks, but most people think about their amazing fighting prowess before they think of a bunch of monks meditating, tending gardens and eating rice.

Good taste. (Skirt Wondy is best Wondy.)
>>

Out of the 75 year history of Wonder Woman the Amazons have rarely been portrayed as warriors. The only fight when they're trying to protect their island. I blame Azzarello and the New 52 for turning them into a bunch of irrational warrior bitches. Morrison got it right with Earth One.

These costumes were brilliant updates of the comic book outfits

>Ozy's gaudy Schumacher nipples
>Nite Owl's over-designed Nolan-esque owlsuit
>>
>>88354835
No kidding, I mean they actually built a full scale puppet of the violator
>>
>>88354915
I wish they had shown Jon with his full body suit, then slowly losing more clothing as he became more detached from humanity.

Movie is underrated tbqhwyf
>>
>>88354915
Ozy's was shit dude. It's not an update if it completely loses the spirit of the original. Nite Owl's is too similar to Batman.
>>
>>88349131
No joke, the cowl sculpt is pretty good.
>>
>>88354915

Their being so good looking is another way that the movie misses the point of the story. The costumes were supposed to look shoddy and slapdash. The only two that should've looked good were Comedian (because he's a government agent) and Ozymandias (because he's a billionaire). And even then, they had to put in the bat nipples for some mysterious reason.
>>
>>88354949
>That's John Leguizamo under all that

I hope who ever did that earned a raise, a bonus, or something.
>>
>>88355038
That was the point though. They were pastiche's of live action superhero costumes in the same way the costumes in Watchmen were of comic costumes during that time.

This IS probably the best actual adaptation - it's like Marvel keeps using their 1940s - 1960s costume designs for a long time through to the end of the last century, but now are just way too embarrassed to own up to it.

The Now With More Now Hawkeye isn't so much replicating the Renner costume-less look from the movies but just is a plain old ordinary rando look that anyone could effect. No one would ever cosplay it.

I'm not saying it's a good costume or that it's not. I'm saying it's the BEST adaptation of the Marvel comic versions that existed for more years than anything else that's appeared in live action.
>>
>>88357740
>>88357069
It's really quite good, much better than I would have expected

Still, it needs something. A taller collar? Slightly brighter blue? I dunno.
>>
>>88351475
>That's actually what didn't like about the costume. The black bits were clearly hard plastic yet were moving with his brows.

Yeah, that's the point. Its not realistic, but it IS accurate to the unrealistic range of expression that masked characters have in comic books. And it looks really smooth in action, so it doesn't stick out unless you start thinking about it.

This is something we should have had for live action batman for years.
