To be distinct and stand on it's own as a uniquely identifiable individual suit.

And to justify making new toys.

I've outright seen jackoffs on /co/ complain that his green footy-pajamas with some flimsy looking wings and a fur collar costume from the comics is better looking than what he's got in the film.

Technically, it is possible. My knowledge of her comes from the cartoon from the 90s. They could work her in as the result (accidental or otherwise) of another attempt at the serum if they want. >>
>>88350946
>There's nothing wrong with Peter Parker, but let his supporting cast be Spider-Man characters and not Ultimate's

Liz Allen, Flash Thompson, Betty Brandt.

The only 'Miles character' in the movie is Ganke the prank, but with a different name.

>The fact that a white man is the lead role in what was a black man's story is fucking wrong

How?
>>
>>88351274
Because Peter Parker never went to fucking high school. Are you fucking dense? They didn't give Peter a black dad whose a cop or a latina mom whose a nurse, they didn't put in Bomb shell or Prowler. You're getting worked up because one character is being retooled to being Peter's friend. thats not white washing, that just retconing.

I'll give you Lizard (who was boring) and Harry (no explaination needed) but
>blue man group electro
Electro was pretty great in the movie. Being blue isn't a new idea for him, and if you'd rather the green suit with moving thunderbolt horns, then I'm sorry for you. My only issue is Electro is usually a punkish asshole and this one was different. I enjoyed that, but punkish assholes are love. Sandman maybe could've filled the role.
>Soviet tank Rhino
That was badass. Issues with that was it was Rhino didn't matter at all, and the trailers made it seem like he would. Also, Rhino himself. I get that cape films, Marvel especially, leave some breathing room for fun and silly stuff, but Rhino seemed like a Disney Channel Movie villain. If they had comic brute rhino but still the rhino mech, that'd be golden.
Of course now that ASM movies are done for, whatever I feel for them means nothing.
>>
>>88357289
I can somewhat forgive Electro since it's more of the Ultimate take, but Rhino was dogshit. Forgetting the fact that it's the most impractical looking mech suit ever, but they gave Rhino guns. GUNS. He's supposed to be this specially designed juggernaut who on rare occasions could fight the Hulk, an animal who charges head first, and we get this asshole in a police shoot out.

This design is a prime example of something that only works in print. His face is stylized enough that it gives him the profile of a Vulture. A real human face just doesn't carry that impression.

That's why they set him up with Tony though. Peter has a very similar moral compass to Steve. Even the whole "when bad things happen" bit, which was a subtle nod to the Uncle Ben's "great power" speech, sounds very close to Cap's argument against the Accords.

We haven't seen the scene in its entirety, the friend probably comes in when he's expecting to be alone.

And 6 months is not enough time to become a full on expert at heroics. Especially when you have an "expert" like Tony coming along and saying "Do this/don't do that".
>>
>>88379546

And who's to say he wasn't being careful in the scene, that we haven't seen in its entirety outside of a fucking trailer that fucking obviously cut things in a way to fucking establish a plot point of Peter's secret being known by some of his fucking closest friends?
>>

No it isn't, it's called being believable. Before this (and the Civil War film), Peter was running around in fucking pajamas he threw together. He's only now acquiring a suit that's more suited for running around and saving people.

Pretty much. The problem isn't that they changed Flash's race, the problem is that there's no way to portrait the character like it has been portrayed everywhere else with the actor that they choosed seemingly for no reason. How exactly is that skinny manlet supposed to be Peter's bully and a pro in the sports scene?

>but maybe they'll do something different with the character!
Fair enough, however that may or may not work, and besides, why the fuck would you use Flash for that anyways? It would be like casting Harry as a literal hobo instead of Norman's son. It doesn't make any sense.

He does appear to have been already sitting. Still, the idea that Peter comes in assuming the room is empty (the lighting certainly makes it look like nobody is occupying it) is hardly worth decrying THE ENTIRE FUCKING MOVIE as awful over.

Because it's more probable that he'd lose it and unlike the mask, it's just an item that anyone could have. Remember, he hasn't fought any supervillains before this, and this is a camera he likely had before being Spider-Man. You could say that it was dumb forgetting to take the name off the camera before taking it down into the sewers, but smart people can be forgetful and careless, especially 18 year old teenagers.

If you want an answer, it's because Zendaya is a bigger name than Tom Holland. Star power is everything, and this is a case all too common in superhero movies where the supporting cast is made up of actors who's notoriety far surpasses that of the star himself. Think Christopher Reeve in Superman, who was eclipsed by the likes of Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman. Michael Keaton already had star power by the time he was Batman, but he was still second billed to Jack Nicholson.

Yes there is. You can cast known characters as other ethnics and do without "muh diversity quota" bullshit. If they aren't planning on making the characters as integral to the hero as usual, it doesn't matter what fucking color they are.

Fucking theatre does this constantly, there's rarely any play that specifies an exact race/gender/age for a character outside of ones where the title alludes to the protagonist or something about them.

The only point you have is Othello, who's ethnicity is one of the motivations for him being targeted by Iago and other detractors. Romeo and Juliet could be cast with anybody as their race is only critical if you're striving for 100% accuracy to the setting. Being "a faggot loser" is hardly the problem, dipshit.
>>
>>88384626

Only half of the time. And definitely not in Spider-man 3, that had terrible dialogue and logic.

>>
>>88384648
The setting is the story.
Romeo and Juliet can hardly be adapted to other cultures because in other cultures that hold such strong clan vendettas, the culture's family values would prevent the story from happening.

That's why every adaptation of the story has been shit. As you dilute the setting you dilute the conflict and make the characters worse people than they are in Shakespeare's
>>
>>88384888

That was dumb, but not nearly as bad as Sandman getting his elbowed bumped and thus accidentally killing Ben. It basically means that the guy Spiderman busted in the first movie WAS the killer, just not the one holding the gun.

It adapted just fine into that modern one where they all had guns.
>>
>>88384577
>The problem is they weren't the characters the people expected to see.
First off, you can only speak for yourself and what you expect to see. If your expectations match those of other people, that's more of a happy accident than anything else.

Second, why are expectations worth protecting? Who's to say this won't turn out far better than you expected?

>You cannot keep selling bacon to someone who asks for ham and expect them to keep coming.

To be fair, he's not entirely wrong about some of the things said. Othello's whole character is meant to be Muslim, it wouldn't work any other way without changing Moor to something that reflects the actor's race or religious standing. Now, I can imagine a few adaptions may have done so to reflect that, but it's probably rare, especially in Theatre where consideration for race/gender isn't that big a deal unless the director is aiming for authenticity.

There isn't an asian actor of similar acting skill or star-power that could have been cast instead.

color of skin means nothing in how a character is represented. fant4stic sucked ass not because of black johnny storm but because the movie was bad,

the show becomes a hundred times better when you realize its not about saitama at all and is instead about how he affects the lives of the people around him and once you see its not a shounen or fighting show like dbz and instead a senin a show driven by story with action inter tangled

Kind of reminds me of the FF outfit spidey had for a bit when he worked with them. At least I'd be surprised if they didn't base it on that a little.
