Oh thank god, this isn't selling well at all
> 6. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN RENEW YOUR VOWS #1 (MAR)
Good Job, one of the few Marvel books I actually enjoy, hopefully it'll stay at the top ten
> 5. INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1 (MAR)
This is gonna drop so hard I can feel it.
> 84. ULTIMATES 2 #1 (MAR)
RIP Ewing
> 93. MOSAIC #2 (MAR)
This seems good, but then aren't they doubling all the orders for this one by matching the #1 orders?
> 2. MARVEL HIP HOP COVERS HC VOL 01 (MAR)
For what reason?
> 7. DC UNIVERSE REBIRTH DELUXE EDITION HC (DC)
Why? It's literally just the $3 comic in hard bound.
> 7. BATMAN ANNUAL #1 (DC)
Jesus christ, I haven't seen an annual this high ever.
>>
>>88340801
90. BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY #4 (DC)
That a big fall, what happened in this issue? I remember it being close to RHATO in sells.
>>
>dat DC drop

Hilarious, given the autistic celebrations of dc fans in the past two months
>>
Well, it seems Marvel has more in the Top 100 (49 to DC's 45*) than DC but DC has more in the Top 50 (27* to Marvel's 21) along with the Top 25 (Marvel has 9 DC has 14*)

*+1 more if you count the Batman TMNT Adventures book.
>>
>>88340928
you talk about a DC drop when champions which was #1 last month and in this month #47, even with free copies and shit
>>
>>88340928
I'm not suprised because I already said that Rebirth wasn't that much different from N52.

I have enjoyed a lot of rebirth books in the beginning, but they started to lose their steam and only few worth reading.
>>
> 47. CHAMPIONS #2 (MAR)

That would put it roughly at between 40k - 50k, right? That the drop-off from the seriously inflated by scummy tactics #1 sales would be huge was a certainty but I thought it would at least stay in the 100k range for #2.

> 84. ULTIMATES 2 #1 (MAR)

Poor Ewing. First the book got fucked by CW2 and then the relaunch is off to a shitty start.

Also, am I blind or is New Super-Man no longer in the top 100?
>>
>>88340799
are other DC fans even trying?
considering the amount of bitching they do here and online you would assume they would outnumber Batman fans
>>
>>88340963
Champs was always fake though.
>>
>>88340992
Nope, it's gone. Probably at 20K now. High 20s if we're lucky. I'm still holding out that it gets until the first Superman Family Wide Crossover before it gets cancelled. I'm hoping his appearance in the main Superman book next year would bump up his sales.

>>88340995
You don't need to bitch if you're on top :^)
>>
>>88340799
> 47. CHAMPIONS #2 (MAR)
Top fucking kek. It was supposed to be flagship title of ANAD era and it's almost out of top 50. Waid/Brevoort BTFO.

> 18. UNWORTHY THOR #1 (MAR)
They really didn't push this book hard enough. It would've debuted in top 10 if if was an ongoing.

>8. VENOM #1 (MAR)
> 32. GHOST RIDER #1 (MAR)
> 33. BLACK PANTHER WORLD OF WAKANDA #1 (MAR)
> 36. THANOS #1 (MAR)
Who wants to bet none of these will be in top 50 next month?

>23. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #21 (MAR)
Remember when this used to be in top 10 consistently?

>28. CLONE CONSPIRACY #2 (MAR)
This shit is failing so hard, even tie in is selling better than main event. What more incentive does Marvel need to kick Slott off the Spider-Man?

>96. DOOM PATROL #3 (MR) [*] (DC)
YAfags on suicide watch. But seriously though I hope these sell better in trades. The critical reception is there and people are definitely talking about these (at the very least Doom Patrol).
>>
>>88340992
Superman is #21 and #22.
>>
>>88340801
>95. AD AFTER DEATH BOOK 01 (IMA)
This debuted pretty low considering the team behind the title. Then again it's a) really expensive, b) didn't have too much hype, c) only a limited series and d) maybe too experimental.
>>
>>88340992
>Also, am I blind or is New Super-Man no longer in the top 100?
It has been out of top 100 since last month.

Cyborg and Blue Beetle are out of top 100 of this month.
>>
>>88340877
>Why? It's literally just the $3 comic in hard bound.
No? First print was $3 which had been cleared within 24 hours of its release almost everywhere. The hard bound cover were further prints and $6. This has all the variants, characters sketches and other shit. Going forward, this will be the only way people will be able to read the one shot unless they want to buy Rebirth Omnibus.
>>
>Comicbook fans have shit taste

Christ
>>
>>88340963
>B-but champions

I don't remember any msrvelfags busting my balls about champions mate
>>
>>88341022
>Who wants to bet none of these will be in top 50 next month?
I'm surprised someone unironically expected fucking Wakandan lesbians to sell.
Oh well. Star Wars is always there to push numbers.
>>
>>88340799
>all those marvel titles that are either events or #1s
>barely even competing with DC titles

Wow is this the end of Marvel? Probably one of the most lackluster relaunches ever. If they can't even dominate the top 20 with all of that, what's it going to be like in a month?
>>
>>88340806

> 11. MONSTRESS TP VOL 01 (MR) (IMA)

Jesus, this book has some insane legs. The trade was number #1 in July and has been hovering around in the top 15 since then.
>>
>>88341020

>Nope, it's gone. Probably at 20K now. High 20s if we're lucky.

That's a real pity, I like it a lot (although admittedly it has been losing steam a bit).
>>
>>88340928
>dat DC drop
I don't think the drop is big to be honest because there are bunch of #1 taking the spot.

Supergirl and BoP numbers don't seem very promising despite having a big debut and I'm curious how much TT fall from #1 and Superwoman, NSM, BB and Cyborg aren't doing well.

Tec and Flash are definitely the biggest winners of rebirth.
>>
B-BUT SUPERBRO WAS THE PROBLEM?!
THE "ORIGINAL" SUPERMAN IS BACK NOW WHY ISN'T SELLING?! HE EVEN HAS A NEW KID?!
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?1
>>
>>88340992
>Poor Ewing. First the book got fucked by CW2 and then the relaunch is off to a shitty start.
>>88340877
>RIP Ewing
If he was smart, he'd have jumped ship to DC. Seriously the guy has been doing budget Avengers books since 2014 (13) and he isn't getting a big fucking promotion he deserves. Next event is going to be Spencer's baby and then Aaron will lead an event. King went from writing a book that sold 8k to book that's top seller. Orlando went from writing Gay Batman to JLA and Williamson who got exclusive in July/August is writing the first main event of Rebirth within 6 months.
Marvel values artists, DC values writers, it's really that simple.
>>
>>88341142
>Tec
>Batman + Batfamily = money
It's not suprise really and DC has been pushing it hard.

The bat characters in general are doing well and will probably will get a boost with the major event in summer.
>>
>>88340799

What the fuck is happening to Spider-Man? He's losing to Superman and his event is selling less than the back up done by Gage?

You do realize people are just buying ASM now out of habit and autism of having a complete collection right? Nobody gives a shit about Clonespiracy.
>>
>>88341137
Last issue was rushed as hell. It shows the pacing issues Yang has and considering he has almost exclusively written OGNs all his career, I don't blame him. He doesn't have the best of editors like Khouri/Bat house to guide his ship either. Still almost everyone with good taste is impressed by the book.
>>

No red underwear.
>>
>>88340799
Tragic situation for Marvel.
>>
>>88341180
People don't give a fuck anymore dude. People are plain tired of Slott.
>>
>>88341222
It's tragic situation for comic industry as whole, anon.

Nothing changed and it's still Batman, #1s and events that are selling while the rest are struggling.
>>

King is million times better than Snyder, what are you talking about?
>>
>>88341277
What quality? The events are awful and only delusional King's fanboys think Batman is good.

All Star Batman is selling because Snyder + Batman and the rest are because of #1s.

So, literally what quality you are talking about again?

> Because Spider-man fans looooooove clones.

Also let's bring back fan favourites Ben Reilly and Kaine just so we can shit all over their characters.
>>
>>88341331
Because of Rebirth hype. Not because of it's muh Superman. Johns run was half added as hell and DCucks disliked Romita's art which tbf was not very well done and wasn't right choice for that title.
>>
Wait, I can't keep track. Which Superman title is the one with Superdad and his son?
>>
>>88341358
All except -girl, -woman and New Super-Man.
>>
>>88341358
They both are, to an extent, but Superman is better and has more direct Superdad and Superlad

We're already getting the Batwoman spin-off, but I have a feeling it'll do about as well as her previous series.

I am wondering why the popularity of the movies doesn't really translate to an increase in comic or at least trade sales the way adaptions of books do.

Well, I guess a Speed Force book shouldn't be too behind either. Titans also sells relatively well so obviously speedsters are good selling point.

It actually has since, 2011. The MCU finally convinced more normies to give comics a chance.

Damian just isn't a TT character. I think Nick Spencer had a good line-up for him with Supergirl, Batgirl and Irey West but he doesn't work as a leader to big guns like Beast Boy or Starfire. New52 Wally himself is also a hard pass for me.

It surely doesn't sell because of Batwoman since her fans hate her portrayal there and hate when she works with the rest of the batcharacters in general since she is the most original and innovative hero ever made and not just someone else leeching off Batman's popularity

Most King fanboys hate it because it's clear that he's phoning it in. Vision, Omega Men, Grayson and Sheriff of Babylon are some of the best comics of the past couple years and Batman is "an alright Batman comic with some good scenes."
>>
>>88341813
Because just because people like movies doesn't mean they'll like comics. They're two completely different mediums. There are plenty of people who like the Resident Evil movies and never play any of the games because they don't like video games.

Plus, most of the people that go from movies to comics just buy trades rather than get involved in the floppy market, and most trades aren't sold through diamond. So yes, people do buy comics thanks to the movies, but it's going to be non-direct market trades they buy and thus aren't part of any of these sales charts we talk about. The people buying ongoing comics at LCSs are pretty much the same people that have always been doing it, with a handful of new additions, and then the teens and young adults getting their shit off of comixology or pirating.
>>

> 10. Green Lanterns #12
>>
G-Mart Comic Books' commentary:

>Strong week for sales. Nearly our entire order of Clone Conspiracy was shorted by Diamond. All that really affected was Marvel having 2 books on the list instead of 3. DC dominates by virtue of Marvel releasing very few heavy hitter books this week. Slapstick, Nova, and Champions (again) are barely blips on the radar. DC has done what I thought impossible during the n52 era- make people want to read Superman books. Avengers is our #2 book this week. I have a feeling more out of habit and obligation than genuine excitement. Doctor Aphra had stronger sales than I expected putting it at #7. My favorite book of the week was Ringside #8.

>Marvel’s best week out of the gates for a couple of months with us, although for the full week DC will catch up over the weekend. Just outside the top 10 – Predator/Dredd/Aliens #3 which has been selling well from the shelves while waiting for this delayed issue – Motor Crush also nearly there as well :)

>Walking Dead led this week with a new issue and the Lucille bat replica toy. We offered a bundle deal of Nova #1 and Slapstick #1 for just $4.99 and only a small number of people took us up on it. However Nova #1 was our number 7 books. My initial reaction is that Slapstick can slap on off to an early cancellation. Over the store was busy and business this week was strong.

>We sold an Amazing Spiderman 1 CGC 3.5 SS signed by Stan Lee for $4600. That doesn’t happen often. We also moved a lot of Local Comic Shop Day items as that event and its exclusives start to catch the attention of our customers.
>>
>>88342594

>DC continues its stranglehold on the top ten in our store, taking eight of slots (including the first seven positions). Marvel got one book in our top ten–and that was Doctor Aphra, which means that no Marvel Universe title could make the charts (and in fact, DC’s Cyborg took our eleventh place position, meaning that every DC Rebirth title outsold every Marvel Universe title; the best-selling Marvel Universe title was Unworthy Thor because customers want the original characters back). Marvel offered hefty free overships of several books, but we won’t sell through our base order, so we’ll never sell those overship copies. Rather than overshipping books that customers don’t enjoy, Marvel should put the effort into creating the books that buyers want.

>Batman and Spider-Man dominated our back issue sales this week.

>Star Wars Dr Aphra #1 was the top book of the week….hey Marvel did you hear that. Star Wars comics=top spot on sales charts…can i get an office with a view and six figure salary since apparently that simple equation is like rocket science at your building and i seem to be the only one that has a degree decent enough to figure out that mathematical formula.$$$.
P.S Batman did really well as usual.

>X-Men and Flash back-issues did really well. Plus a customer said that i was the only one that had a decent selection of Harley Quinn in the immediate area….weird. Also some guy bought 30 copies of Reborn #1….thanks.
>>
>>88342611

>The overall November sales charts are telling a different story than what we’re seeing in my store, here at FFF. Including the extra free copies that Marvel is sending to stores (thanks Marvel!), to level off the giant dips from first issue sales to actually ordering closer to what we’re selling for the second issues and beyond, Marvel is shipping more books to stores, but I’m not sure how many of these are actually selling to fans. Over here, it’s a really low number on most of the Marvel books. Even the books I’m really enjoying like Jessica Jones, Great Lakes Avengers and others haven’t really caught with our regulars. And there are almost no new customers to speak of, with this first exception so far that just happened: A new mid teenage girl finally came in to buy Champions 1 and 2 this week, (and Future Quest 3), but I believe that’s the first new customer we’ve seen coming in asking about a Marvel Now book since the relaunches started, and our average week sees over 600 transactions. We see dozens of new faces every day, but rarely do they specifically come in asking for a Marvel or DC book (past the first few months of DC Rebirth, where it was tons of new people, many are now regulars, with or without folders). We do have new people wander in, or looking for Walking Dead and even indy stuff that was recommended by a friend, or something they saw on our Facebook, but Marvel isn’t bringing in a lot of new fans so far this year.
>>
>>88342620

>Our store’s weekly Top 10 is 7 DC, 2 Marvel and 1 Image, looking like this: Batman, JL, Superman, Walking Dead, GLs, Clone Conspiracy, Nightwing, GA, HQ, and Aphra. Just factoring in sales from the first few days of sales, my top 10 alone, I’m selling 5.36 DC books for every Marvel book (just in my top 10). Factoring in all my top 20, which is more fair and closer to reality, we’re still looking at selling 2.15 DC for every Marvel book. Going deeper down the rabbit hole with all Marvel vs all DC in the first few days of sales so far since Wednesday, it goes back up to 2.61 DC books to every Marvel book sold in just the first few days of sales. Every store is different, but this is pretty consistent with what we’ve seen the last few months. Once the rest of Marvel’s number ones fade away in the next month or two, I think the overall sales charts will be a little closer to 38% for both of the big two in the near future.

>Batman Annual and Han Solo 5 were strong enough to reach my top 20 on their second week of release at spots 16 and 20.

>Dr Aphra is doing okay, but not amazing so far. Hopefully Rogue One next week will give it a bigger boost, Champions isn’t the breakout hit that Marvel wants it to be, and it’s tied with Death of Hawkman in our store, which is a pretty low level DC book, both in our 17th bestselling spot so far this week.
>>
>>88342611
>Also some guy bought 30 copies of Reborn #1….thanks
......
>>
>>88342620

>I do see other comic stores talking about how rough they’re doing this year, but if they keep spending money chasing stupid variants, first issues no one wants, and other nonsense, then I don’t think they’ll recover, and that sucks. I want the industry to succeed, and I don’t want to see stores closing. Maybe they’re backing the wrong horse. We’re having our best year yet in our 23 year history, and we’re up about 10% over last year, with most of the holiday shopping season still to go. Doing this weekly sales list for Bleeding Cool shows what people are really excited about in our store that they race in to grab in the first few days, and it’s really helped to refine my ordering a bit. Between this and weekly Final Order Cutoff (FOC) numbers through our point of sale system, there were some definite surprises on what we thought we would sell more of than we did. I’m super thankful for FOC and the ability to cut titles that are losing customers all the time. As long as you’re supporting the books you’re enjoying and not just buying books out of habit, you’re doing your part to shape a better industry. Let’s hope we see Marvel focus more soon, with less books, better books (and cheaper books) to help the industry regain focus.

>We sold several Saga back issues to a customer who dove into the TPBs and wants to fill in the single issues for his collection. We have Saga 13 and up still at cover price, so he hasn’t dove into the expensive ones yet. We are still moving Walking Dead back issues fairly well and keep selling any Negan or Lucille merchandise we can get pretty quickly. People love to hate that character.
>>
>>88342649

>We’re still selling okay on Fantastic Four, Punisher, Batman, Superman and Nightwing back issues lately. Some older Harley Quinn issues have been moving as well. We still sell an occasional Sonic The Hedgehog, although it’s slowed a lot, and had a kid super happy to leave with a Giant Sized Little Marvel AVX issues today, one of their most fun books in years.

>>
>>88343980

Batman being an asshole and firing Dick was retconned in to drive Batman storylines.

The Titans group wrote Dick leaving the cave pre-crisis as an amicable split. He still hung around the cave, they were still family.
The Batman group rewrote Dick leaving the cave post-crisis as this acrimonious freak-out by Bruce and kept Dick out of the Batman books for about a decade.

Champions dropped over 40 positions in one month. Other than CW2 the only thing Marvel is moving is #1s, and if you'd been paying attention you'd have seen that Marvel is giving them out by the hundreds. They're sending people double or more of the books they order just so they can write it off as a sale.

Everyone in the industry knows that Marvel can't compete in producing quality comics, so they're struggling to inflate their numbers to look like they aren't dying.

Because like it or not, that's what is happening here. Marvel is dying, just like the last couple of times they've gone bankrupt. Only this time they can't sell off anything, so they'll just get dissolved into Disney at large.

Toning it down isnt the same as phoning it in. For once king has more than 12 issues to tell a story so it can be slow and subdued
>>
>>88344343
And yet it's done far better than the main title. Just as it did last year when it WAS the main title

Most of the reviews have praised it, calling this Peter and MJ the "real" ones, Slott even hinted the RYV universe was linked to 616 in the main book, combine that with some of the OMD reversal hints this summer and you can tell they want this to be viewed as being just as important as the main book

But go on, keep doomcasting.

LCS are a stupid idea in the first place. There's no reason that comics should be quarantined off from every other book, especially with the technology available. Do you realize how popular a weekly delivery service from Amazon or something would be dedicated to comics? Or Hell, just put them with the rest of the magazines at stores.
>>
>>88346829

>>88340992
>That would put it roughly at between 40k - 50k, right?

Yeah. It's being beaten by one issue of Action Comics, which was estimated at 53,000 copies last month.

To keep things in perspective this is the chart for Bendis' Invincible Iron Man (for All-New All-Different Marvel), which was also promoted as the flagship title last year:

10/15 Invincible Iron Man #1 - 279,514
10/15 Invincible Iron Man #2 - 66,664 (-76.2%)
11/15 Invincible Iron Man #3 - 59,069 (-11.4%)
12/15 Invincible Iron Man #4 - 57,639 (- 2.4%)
01/16 Invincible Iron Man #5 - 49,225 (-14.6%)

every time
stores do not want them because they are not returnable
also people do not buy them so they wouldn't buy a bunch anyway
also they're being sold in places other than LCSes anyway
they just don't sell because comics are niche
>>
>>88347112
It's the most important one but they do seem to be stressing bookstore sales and trade sales in general more now.
>>
>>88347112
They use other factors.

Bookscan charts tell them how well a TPB sells in the bookstore market (Barnes and Noble, Amazon, etc).

And I'm pretty sure there's one that tells them how well monthly comic sales are doing in non-comic shops (as in newsstands, bookstores and stuff)

And then there's also digital, via Comixology/Amazon.
>>
>>88346579
>That's because Chuck Dixon era would constantly take things from the DCAU cartoons.
Chuck Dixon didn't write the retcon where Bruce kicked Dick out of the batcave. Max Collins and Denny O'Neil wrote hypocrite Bruce who fired Dick and hired Jason in the same issue back in '87. The DCAU took the Max Collins arc and made Batman into an even bigger jerk for the cartoon. Then Dixon tried to fix all of it in the early 00's and integrate it w/ what he'd done over the last decade w/ the batbooks.

Read more comics.

It happened with Champions, it happened with Dr Strange. And seeing as we already have confirmation that Marvel's matching orders for IvX, it's actually tracking much lower than that.

That means that Sorcerers Supreme will be in cancellation territory by #6 more likely than not, won't it?

On the flipside, if Superwoman settles around the mid 30ks it might get a decent run which would be nice. Worried for New Super-Man, though.

>implying they won't just roll out another batch of #1s as soon as sales start to drop.
>>
>>88348465

Marvel seems to be having some real trouble getting even their b/a-lister titles to at least settle at acceptable sales numbers rather than continuing to fall. Pity that some of the decent titles like Ultimates 2 and Foolkiller are DOA.

I just came into this thread to laugh at anti-Kingfags.

Suck my dick fags based King is taking over the industry.
>>
>>88348260
I think it's a combination the movie, the Funko box, and the variants.

But I think if it had been just the movie though, there wouldn't have been such a vast drop between 1 and 2.

>Batman is the best selling comic.

Yeah I'm shocked
>>
>>88348672
It didn't used to be. Go look up sales on Batman during Brubaker's run.

>3. DOCTOR STRANGE SORCERERS SUPREME #1(MAR)
>99. DOCTOR STRANGE SORCERERS SUPREME #2 (MAR)
That's such a big fall, my God.

>>88348260
Why the heck they keep doing that?
>>
>>88348680
King isn't the reason why Batman is selling big.

DC can literally replace him in the next issue and there will be hardly any change in sells.
>>
>>88348736
>King isn't the reason why Batman is selling big.

If that's true then Batman would've been on top back in 2011 before Snyder came on board. It wasn't. King may not be the only factor but he's likely one of the factors.

Incentive Variants, bigger stores can afford to over order so they can get those sweet rare collectible variants and flip them online, also Marvel offers discounts and specialty packages (Like postcards and calendars and stickers) when stores order to a certain amount.
>>
>>88348736
Kek name the last run to sell back issues as the #2 spot
>>
>>88348818
It's actually thanks to n52 reboot and Snyder's run that Batman become a top sellers. Many if not most are buying Batman out of habit and because it's Batman.

>>88348886
>Doesn’t understand how double shipping works
>>
>>88348680
It's been that way since Morrison and as much as /co/ would hate to admit it, Snyder kept it going
>>
>>88341125
doesn't hurt that its like $7
>>
>>88349024
Snyder and Capullo especially boosted it.

I almost want to say that it's been that way when Judd Winick was on the title and sort of tied-in to Infinite Crisis. Morrison really kept the momentum going.

But what people forget was that in 2011, Pre-New 52 a lot of stuff did not sell that well. DC's highest selling titles were Green Lantern and Batman, and even the Bat-titles were around 60,000 or less, not like the 90,000-100,000 range that Snyder/Capullo did. Time will tell if King's run will maintain the sales level or not.

Wrong.

>Time will tell if King's run will maintain the sales level or not
Yeah it's still too early to tell, but we will see how King will do.

It's M̶a̶r̶v̶e̶l̶Batman's world, we're just living in it

>Marvel only have 3 titles in the top 50 that aren't either event books, number #1's or Star Wars
>DC have 24 out of the top 50 that aren't number #'1's or event books
Holy shit that's an absolute shellacking.

DC's Rebirth titles are holding amazingly well, which backs up what we've been hearing from actual retailers. Whereas outside of Star Wars, events and #1's Marvel are selling like shit, which backs up what we've been hearing from actual retailers.

No wonder Marvel relaunch and have constant events, it's the only way their books sell at the moment.
>>
>>88345684
Not true. The copies Marvel gave away count on the Diamond charts because the charts count the number of copies bought and shipped by Marvel. Marvel still had to buy the copies and ship them to retailers so Diamond counts them.
>>
>>88341165
>If he was smart, he'd have jumped ship to DC.
As someone that hasn't read any of his work how'd he do on supposed upcoming DC books like LoSH or JSA?
>>
>>88352519
>JSA
I don't know. Honestly I'd rather Johns do it since we need someone who is a big fan of the JSA on that book when it comes out.
>LOSH
I think he'd so well. He love continuity and big cosmic concepts which is perfect for the Legion.
