-Two Weeks Until Christmas Edition-

What's this? What's this? There's /co/hristmas everywhere.

Grab some cocoa, turn on the Christmas music, get comfy, and hang out with some /co/mrades as we share stories and get into the holiday spirit.

As previous years share your Amazon wishlist and some random Anon may purchase a holiday gift for you. Be sure to gift another Anon in return so we can spread the cheer far and wide.

Ungifted lists: pastebin.com/PnsZCHHH
All lists: pastebin.com/i76p6g59

To get your wishlist code open you wishlists on Amazon, then click on the name on the left side of the page it will update the URL at the top to be registry/wishlist/#########
We just need the ###########

Missing Address: When viewing your list, click "List settings" in the upper right hand corner. From there click "View details" on the wishlist you are using. On this new page in the middle will say "Shipping Address". Mark "Use an existing shipping address" and select the address you want to use (most likely your home address). Below that check the box "Third party shipping agreement". Click on "Save Changes" and you're all set!

Is it allowed to repost your wishlist? I think it was okay to do so like two or three yeats ago, but just making sure.

And Scribs, thanks for the storytime! I absolutely love this series of books, although my favorite definitely is Shazam!: Power of Hope.

Usagi Yojimbo is one of the best comics being published today. This has been the case pretty much since his first story.

A friend of mine and I talk about how we don't want to get into Pops, but he cracked a while back. I still haven't, but whenever I see one I'd like I show it to him and say "Funko really tryin to get me to buy Pops". They might actually get me with the Cowboy Bebop ones. If I can stave off that set I won't break.

>>88341590
It's actually stupor, but right on.

>>88341603
I'm not sure who first came up with it, but I made that based off a Comics Alliance picture I found a couple years ago.
>>
Hey, yall.

Won't be able to check out any wishlists until next weekend, when I'll feel alright about posting my own.

But wanted to say I'm planning on doing a complete Moore/Burrows Lovecraft Saga storytime tonight...and that's relevant because it's a Christmas story. So pop on in if you like.

There's just something about them that puts me off. I'm not even sure what it is, but there have been a couple I've seen where I've thought "I might buy this", though I never have. The Cowboy Bebop set is the closest I've come to buying them, but I've remained unbroken.

The trick to making The Thing festive is to pretend it happened at the north pole. Start with the huskies as reindeer and go from there.

Wait, what happened to Elusive? Why is he banned? From previous experience you should still be able to view the thread unless it's a real shit ban that prevents that but I thought that was saved for just the nastiest of bans.

As it's the comics and cartoons board, let's have a little of the latter. A Britfag classic, here's The Snowman. Think of it as the UKs version of Frosty only better :^)

We think it might be because of stream posting. He added a note in the pastebin saying he was banned until the 13th. The note also said he'd be updating the pastebin, but I wasn't sure banned people could view threads.

I think Americans should be familiar with The Snowman, I know I've seen it plenty of times before.

>The note also said he'd be updating the pastebin, but I wasn't sure banned people could view threads.
He's also checking the lists and sorting by purchased, I think. He posted a pic of a gift he got a couple threads back and there was a wishist spreadsheet in the background, so he's taking this really seriously.

I forgot that he could just check the lists for purchases, but it would be easier for him to check the thread for people saying who they gifted I would think. And yeah, I imagine it's a lot of work, I appreciate that he takes it upon himself to keep everything in order.

Good morning/afternoon people!

I regret not being able to hang around in these threads more this year but this holiday season is crazy busy for me. Currently I'm doing some christmas shopping for family and I'm stuck for my two brothers. One of which is bug into Nintendo vidya and board games but I'm having trouble figuring out whether to get him another amiibo (did that last year for him) or something else. And older brother is getting married so I want to get him something for their new house but I'm not exactly an expert homemaker myself and I don't know what his fiancee would want.

tl;dr any advice for hard-to-shop-for people?
>>
>>88344728

>banned until the 13th
I suppose the solution would be to put the stream links into the pastebin. But seriously, dick move, mods.

As for the Snowman, I'm not sure how many would be familiar with it's sequel: The Snowman and the Snowdog. Viewable by your eyes here:

http://putlockers.ch/watch-the-snowman-and-the-snowdog-online-free-putlocker.html

Hey, it's a dog, made of snow, during winter. What could possibly go wrong?
>>
>>88345027
What's your budget? Do you know if your older brother has all the basics or if he's going to buy pretty much a whole household from scratch?
>>
>>88345062
Yeah, I think stream links in the pastebin would be good, and then the streamers could just announce when they were starting up or whatever and we could get the link from the pastebin. Also, I wasn't aware there was a sequel to The Snowman.
>>
>>88345068

Older brother has the basics, I was thinking getting something for him for his homebrew beer projects.

Budget is about 25-35 dollars for either brother.

And I forgot my name.
>>
>>88345160
Does he like plonk too? I got a wine decanter as an early gift which was a nice surprise and something I probably wouldn't have bought for myself

Younger brother - Zelda Monopoly if they're still at decent prices.
Older brother - something like a wooden animal to put on a windowsill, or wooden bowl for keys/junk. Bookends. That sort of thing.

Worth a watch, dude. The music is great in it as well.

Hello /co/, it's crypto time!
This is very likely the last prize puzzle...but ya never know.

The rules are simple. These are letter replacement puzzles that are concealing a Christmas quote/reference/lyric. The letters in the crypto stand in for another letter…or two…or three. Or in the case of today's penultimate puzzle...7.
Though I try to build all of them to break down with one or two good assumptions. Still, you may want to get out some scratch paper.
Solve it faster than anyone else to win a fabulous prize!
When you solve the puzzle, spoiler the solution so that people who want to keep playing can do so. Include your wishlist so that I can gift the fuck out of you. One prize per wishlist.

Nope, just attaching your wishlist code to the entry would probably be enough. Although this is the one place on the board where names are kind of expected and tolerated.

So, GiftAnons, how do you decide on what gift to send? Do you search the wish list for something you particularly like, or go based on price? If the latter, how much is too expensive for you?
>>
>>88352143
Pretty sure most people try to find something cheaper
the old threads always said try to put things on your list under 10 bucks
>>
>>88352184
Ten? I know you can get manga volumes for that low because Japs print basically on newspaper paper, but what /co/ related stuff can you find under $15?
>>
>>88352330
it might have been 20 but you'd be surprised how cheap things can get under "used" catagories
>>
>>88352143
I generally try to find something I enjoy that I can gift, though sometimes I'll just pick at random. But it's fun to gift someone something you already love. Cost depends on my mood and bank account.

>>
>>88352330
Image 1st volumes tend to be pretty low. Like below $8 low.
>>

I try to find something that's affordable for me (usually 10-15 USD) and is something I would want someone to read.

I usually try to send something I have enjoyed in the past. If there's nothing that meets that criteria then I'll pick something that looks like I would enjoy it. 13 gifts sent so far with a general range of $10-20, though the highest I spent for one person was $40.

2JRFRERD4NH14
>>
>>88352143
I always look for things I've enjoyed in the past and/or things that are season appropriate. Price does play a part, of course, especially for foreign shipping situations where it might cost six times more to ship than to buy.
>>
>>88352744
>six times
This can't be real, can it? I know some shipping can cost as much as the gift requiring you to spend on an anon as much as you'd spend on two.
>>
>>88352143
Some gift things they like themselves.
Some gift things that they found interesting.
Barely anyone will gift something costing more than twenty bucks, mind you. I sent out four gifts so far, all in 10-15$ range.
>>
>>88352806
Bit of an exaggeration, shipping books to another EU country from Amazon.de is actually pretty reasonable (€7,30/$7.70) and in my case Germany ships to my country for free.
>>
>>88352806
Standard shipping a book to Russia from the main .com site costs $28.48.
Shipping costs from an European site depend on the country of origin and country of destination, and can get stupid high as well. From UK to Serbia, for example, costs £9.18.
Of course I chose the most ridiculous examples.
>>
Starting the Moore/Burrows Lovecraft Storytime soon, so check the catalog in about 15 minutes.

>>88352143
My limit is usually 20 and under, but I can go near 30 if it's something I like and want to spread the word about.
I only take shipping into account when it's international.
>>
>>88352143
I generally go for around $20, with 30 being the absolute maximum, and if I generally love it.
That said, my wish list has an $80 Omnibus that i don't believe for a second anyone will buy, so I guess some people start with something expensive so everything else seems reasonable.

Old school H-B action cartoons are actually pretty fantastic, even if these ones are meant to be campy. The episode we're watching right now started off with an Impossibles story where the team faced off against a villain who could fold himself like paper and now Frankenstein Jr. is facing zoo animals made gigantic by an evil alien lifeform that looks like the Great Gazoo's purple-clad cousin.

How do you dudes like your Holiday season? White or Green (when given a choice that is)?
We got 7 or so inches in my neck of the woods with a little more coming overnight. Probably working from home tomorrow.

I for one can't get enough of it, then again I may be a cultist of Ithaqua....
>>
>>88360724
I want 4 inches, but for it to be 35 and sunny on Christmas day.
>>
>>88360724
Green honestly. Snow looks nice, but is a bitch to shovel. Cold weather is enough for me.

Green, as much as I did infact like the snow that one time I went up a mountian, I don't think I could handle Christmas being cold. It should only be 30c+
>>
>>88360724
We got a dusting here today. Looks great but will be all gone by tomorrow evening.

I like it somewhere between. Little snow, not enough to turn to treacherous ice where I'm gonna keep falling. I can't do that anymore, I'm gonna break something.
>>
>>88360991
>30c+
Wat....

>>88360777
I absolutely love to shovel, but I'm weird like that. Just finished and am enjoying a nice Christmas Ale. I am visibly perturbed when Christmas is green. But I'm from the Midwest and near a bunch of lakes, so I'm biased.

By the way, if anyone was on pins and needles about >>88353833, Frankenstein Jr. basically has Bat-god preparation and used a giggle beam (literally a beam that tickles things) to cause a gorilla to drop a building it was attempting to throw at civilians onto itself, then used an enormous magnet to force a tank full of soldiers back up and out of the throat of an ostrich that had swallowed it.

Out of curiosity, do any of you make a tradition of getting new ornaments for your tree every year? If so, what'd you get this year?

Each member of my family chooses a new ornament to add to the tree every year. My wife has gotten a Batman-related ornament almost every year since we've been married, this years being Julie Newmar's Catwoman. Mine's the '66 Batmobile which plays the theme, my daughter chose a DC Superhero Girls Supergirl, and my son chose a blocky little '66 Batmobile to match mine.

If you live in Europe or have access to a multiregion or region B player, a company called Madman released a Blu-ray version of it a few months ago and it's feakin' LEGIT. Only gripe is a couple of banding artefacts on a few episodes, but save for that the transfer is flawless and the colours have beed subtly adjusted to be more accurate, so if you can get your hands on it, then go right ahead.

Or just go into the archives and swipe the rips that one kind anon did of it, but OTGW really deserves your cash.

Goooooooooood morning Christmas /co/! How are you all today? The weather here in the UK is rain followed by more rain. We live in hope it'll get colder and turn to snow. Those in the north will have more luck, the downside being that, well, they're in the north. That's borderline monkey paw right there.
