What's this? What's this? There's /co/hristmas everywhere.
Grab some cocoa, turn on the Christmas music, get comfy, and hang out with some /co/mrades as we share stories and get into the holiday spirit.
As previous years share your Amazon wishlist and some random Anon may purchase a holiday gift for you. Be sure to gift another Anon in return so we can spread the cheer far and wide.

Thanks to those who managed to tune in to tonight's movies! I had some issues with getting the message out so I'm not sure how it's going to go for future dates...1MU3PX4QTCAGY .ca, if you happen to be feeling generous!
For this puzzle all you need to open the boxes is http://www.7-zip.org/download.html. When you try to extract the zip you will be prompted for a password and voila! That's all you need. As always I'll be monitoring the thread and be here for you when you have questions. Now without further ado!

The time is now Christmas, and are you all done? You might have beaten me once, but it won't happen again. It is the season of SHARING, so here are some great movie recommendations. I hope you'll give them a listen, after all I really believe in you, do you believe in me too? (The answers will be in all lowercase unless otherwise specified)

Tomorrow and Sunday I'm going to paradise city comic con.
The books I have to get signed are:
Demon in a Bottle (Iron man #128)- Bob Layton
Crisis on Infinite Earths #7- George Perez
Longbow Hunter #1 - Mike Grell
Secret Wars #5 - Bob Layton and John Beatty
Nick Fury Agent of Shield #1 (reprint)- Steranko
Strange Tales #151 - Steranko
Hellblazer Rebirth - Moritat
Which 2 or 3 should I get graded if I can afford it?

Also, Merry Christmas, family!

I just got home and feel pretty good.
Ok fire up your email because the first quiz to win a S.H.I.E.L.D badge (imgur.com/a/nyQgT) is a go.
[email protected]
One thing I do want to point out is that this will have nothing to do with the Amazon wishlists so once we've got a winner I'll have to message back and forth to get their picture and info for the card then an address to send it to.
1) Who are all of the known S.H.I.E.L.D. Directors?
2) What are the different acronyms for S.H.I.E.L.D.?
3) What was the first comic book appearance of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
4) What was the first TV appearance of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Not a problem. Due to my sssearching the archives by title, I sssometimesss missss holiday and X-Massss thrillsss sssimply by virtue of their namesss not being Chrissstmassss-y enough.
Quesssstion: Obviousssly it wouldn't be appropriate to thissss ssspecific thread, but later and perhapsss in the year to come, would there be any interesssst in me ssstory-timing sssome of the bigger arcsss of Dredd?
Any big plans for reading/watching/playing over the holidays?

>>88310663
Playing: I've gotten addicted, sssurprise sssurprise, to LET IT DIE. Perhapsss sssomething in it isss relatable.
Watching: Due to being involved in the Star Trek RPG playtessst, I've been watching sssome TNG, which isss the era the other Judgesss chossse.
Reading: Jussst asss every holiday for the passst few yearsss, I've been usssing thisss month to get caught up on my Judge Dredd and other 2000AD thrillssss and read old onesss I had perhapsss misssssed.

Gonna continue on my journey of reading all of ASM (until hitting the terrible Quesada part...I may continue, but I won't buy it, and it will absolutely be rage-reading) and experimenting with recommended runs of other titles.
For watching, I intend to catch up on all the recent cape shows (even the terrible ones), as I'm awfully behind due to school.
Playing will be mostly unrelated to /co/, but I'll finally start building teams in Pokemon Sun.

>>88310663
Death of X has got me interested in the X-Men and they're so cool! like why do people diss the 90s they seem like the best time for comics ever
I've started Lee's X-Men and Generation X, these are more fun than like 95% of the stories I've ever read
wtf
>>88310714
I imagine it'd be more fun to read all random Spider-titles
>>88310798
I'd probably ssstart with the classsic The Cursed Earth ssstoryline, which iss widely consssidered where Judge Dredd firssst became, well, Judge Dredd. From there I'd move on to The Day the Law Died and, of courssse, Judge Death.
Even though it introducesss the Angel Gang, I'd probably ssskip The Judge Child unlesss people really wanted to sssee it. It'sss a bit of a ssslog and doesssn't really come together until the actual fight between Dredd and the gang at the very end. Even then it'sss a cool action ssscene rather than the payoff to roughly a year of...whatever the fuck happened in the Judge Child sstoryline.
Looking at it, I think the easssier quessstion would be which major ssstory arcsss I'd prefer to /ssskip/. There'sss not many, but some of them really are That Bad.
>>88310844
I would read it because the more storytimes the better
could you suggest me some of the best qt Judge girl's stories and maybe help me locate them to download?
>>88310880
I certainly could - in a few hoursss. The ressst of the dead callsss to me. Good night, sssinnerssss.
>>88310826
I actually intend to read the non-ASM Spidey titles too, but I wanted to start at the start and all. From there, I'll probably bounce around, but I've already started and want to keep the train rolling.
X-Men, funnily enough, is another that I began reading from the beginning. (I'm not even sure what issue got me into X-Men because my dad took me to the LCS when I was so young, I picked things based on the covers.) I'll probably jump around more with that one though.
Morning, Christmas /co/horts! I see no one cracked the riddle yet.

>>88310844
>I'd probably ssskip The Judge Child unlesss people really wanted to sssee it.
Was it the one where Dredd was dicking around the universe? What about just cutting out the filler?

Submit some Christmas music for Tajador's Christmas contest. You can sing, you can play an instrument, you do do a classic song, a parody, an original, whatever you choose! Just create and share some kind of Christmas music. I'd share last year's, but everyone uploaded to Vocaroo and they delete too quickly so they are lost forever.
Send your entries to [email protected] with your wishlist number. The winner will receive a gift from their wishlist.
If you're interested but need a little more time, let me know.

fuckin'radical.
Every year I try Riddlers puzzles and end up thinking "maybe there is no solution. Maybe the puzzle is our searching and the prize is our hard work and determination, a gift that though not physical, can be enjoyed by many this holiday season if we apply ourselves to tasks in hand".
Then I see someone goes "IT'S THIS" and I feel stupid.
>>88312599
I second these.
Howdy all. Kid came home from hospital in time for my parents to drive across the country and do our Christmas meal early. I made festive burgers this year with mini pigs in blankets (cocktail sausages wrapped in bacon for the unenlightened) and home made rosemary chips. Burger was (from the bottom) bun, slide of baked stuffing, beef, pulled pork with gravy, crispy onions lettuce and tomatoes. I made bloody mary relish to top it off. 10/10 would recommend to santa himself.

Fucking loved it. Thanks for that.
It was really good. Liked it a lot.
I try to shove logic into this though and I hate my brain for trying to do that.(Why Superman didn't come to help him etc etc)
Any help with the riddle? I'm stuck with box3.zipI came late to these threads this year, but reading previous threads bring up "rock" related Xmas songs. Nothing I try works though :(
There haven't been nearly enough pictures of presents this year! I'm getting severe holiday blue balls.
>>88320289
I can't help but be a little sad that no one I've gifted so far posted with a picture or a thank you or anything. Hopefully they're enjoying their comics.

Burger was (from the bottom) bun, slide of baked stuffing, beef, pulled pork with gravy, crispy onions lettuce and tomatoes. I made bloody mary relish to top it off. 10/10 would recommend to santa himself.

You should just write about it and go for that contest!

It's more of a visual gag. I can still give the writing one a try tho.
What contest you're talking about ?
>>88321171
A guy made a contest dedicated to his waifu.

Dang, can't draw at all so can't take part in this.
All this Kamala talk has the missus working on an entry now too. Between what she's working on and all the awesome entries popping up this thread, I need't have bothered haha. At least mine a got a laugh or two.
>>88319916
Thanks Tajador that was a great read
Well might as well bump the thread with a random story I found. I think this one will be the last one since I can't find any other decent ones, at least we got the "no christmas in the future" one, that was a lucky find. Anyway enjoy, might repeat some of the story times around the time close to christmas.
When's the kamala contest due again?

My son beats me.

Why is that seal looking at the box? Is he in time out?
I rather like your little tree.
>>88319772
Those are called "Chinese".
Hey everyone! Sadly my gifting this year is going to be bare minimum as fuck. Financially, 2016 has sucked for me but I've got enough to spare for some small books and based on what I see you guys have this shit pat down anyway.
>>88323662
>Starro tree topper
That is the coolest thing ever.

We have some incredibly talented anons. The Christmas music contest is always a lot of fun, so I invite everyone to spend a few minutes jamming out.
Presenting this year's entrants:
http://vocaroo.com/i/s17mlzoMBt65 - W9RGRA3KZCMT - An delightful rendition of The Christmas Song that made me want to roast some chestnuts by an open fire. Goddamn, son.
https://my.mixtape.moe/azhpha.mp3 - 1RJH2KA24X3UT A comfy seasonal composition featuring some Christmas bells
http://vocaroo.com/i/s1hfa4BM71IY - 1EOFHDJH9ABUL Remember that ridiculous Doom comic? This anon did a Christmas-y rendition, with added guitar riffs.
http://picosong.com/UAzr/ - 2ZUBIKITWZKP6 - And lastly, another Christmas classic, Do You Hear What I Hear? I used to hate this, but it's really grown on me over the years, and I love this anon's rendition.I'm not well equipped to describe music. But y'all should listen and comment, because they're all fucking amazing.
>>88325072

How did you do it?
>>88327633

but you dont get a password there, but a new hint, and thats the part that's really hard, at least i thought so

So you've found me once again. It really is a shame that this is the farthest you'll go. Some things add up, but I promise you'll rank this hint as one that does not. I might even rent a billboard to show your rankings. Just keep in mind that if you don't make the list you're always a zero.

Find the rankings of those songss on billoard.com under holiday songs, search how the ratings looked at 13/26/2015, substract them from one another(since it doesnt adds up, it substracts, and ou get -23 which is the pass[\spoiler]

>>88329103
I've lived in VA/NC my whole life, which is the best of both worlds -- We don't get much snow, but it also doesn't take much to shut down school for a while. So none of the serious problems, but all of the benefits.
Working in academia I still desperately wish for those snow days. We only got a few snows this year, and they were all weekends. So I got off early on one Friday and that was it.

Out of curiosity, what are some series/titles you discovered in the past year that you're glad came into your life? What are some you'd like to take the time to read in the coming year? I'm talking comics, cartoons, anime, manga, whatever. I'm just curious.
Personally, I got into watching/reading a bunch new Jump titles after playing J-Stars Victory VS and I've enjoyed them all quite a bit. Beelzebub, Toriko, Dr. Slump, Kusuo Saiki no Psi-Nan, and, though I checked it out for different reasons than the others, My Hero Academia have all been a blast. I also got back into JoJo's Bizarre Adventure in a major way and am rereading Death Note presently, which I'm not enjoying as much as the first time around about eight years ago.
As to things, I'd like to check out, these threads have got me wanting to read Kamala's series. I was reading storytimes on here when it first began, but fell off the wagon after the Wolverine team-up.
>>88332738
Usagi Yojimbo. I was working this summer for almost all day and I didn't have anything else to do except comics. I was reading Usagi Yojimbo in my phone at every moment I could. Helped me a lot with my stress at the time (chef at a 4star hotel and working 10-11+ hours each day so it was really stressful). Loved the characters, the art style and how serious the creator was with his stories making me wonder why I never read it until now.
Thanks for coming, folks. Show's over until tomorrow night.

>>88333723
違う!
おっぱいの漫画!
ありがとうございます!
The anime is a really good adaptation. If you want just watch it, or even better watch the BD rips.
The manga is weird since it's from the 80-90s. If you don't mind the artwork read it. If you can, find the color translations and read those. They improve it a lot and the coloring is really good.

>>88334435
>Breastfeeding too intimidating for you?
Because of what you said. I don't mind breastfeeding, but when they do that, it's like a clickbait for the book. It's like they don't have anything to show, so they show something that they will attract people because of the wrong reasons.
>>88334420

Merry Christmas, anons.
Why did Elusive get banned?
>>88334783
he got banned??? how do you know?
>>88334435
Haha, this just reminded me that I had my first ever awkward public breastfeeding moment on a family trip back in September.
They do day-tours by train here in Alaska to other areas of interest, so we decided that we'd take the kids to see "Alaska's largest aquarium" in some small port town called Seward. Though the train ride (a first for all of us) was great, the destination was less so. When we got there, we had to walk like three miles in freezing weather and rain to get to a place that took all of thirty minutes to see everything it had to offer inside and out. Anyway the rest of the town was comprised of small shopettes and restaurants, so we settled in for lunch before heading back for the departure. On our way back, we realized that our daughter had left something behind at the restaurant and I ran back to get it. I was in full-on tourist mode and took photos of everything, so I stopped along the way to take pictures of something across the street. I sat there taking the photo again and again because it was turning out blurry. Finally satisfied with my work, I lowered my camera to discover that I was also facing a breastfeeding mother who was seated inside her car about ten feet away with the most horrified expression on her face. She clearly thought I was just sitting there filling my memory card with pictures of her feeding her baby or something, so I just nonchalantly turned and walked away.
>>88334821
Says it in the pastebin unless I read it wrong.
>>88334604
It's not done in a serialized manner. There's literally a baby at the teet.
Hell, even without a baby an exposed breast is pretty tame to even what's going on inside the book.
>>88334783

>>88334896
Maybe for posting a stream link? They were deleting those a few days ago.
>>88334883
Haha, and she'll forever think you totally did.

That stinks. Maybe because of the stream posting? Some people said it was against the rules, though we've never had any issuses before that I know of.

Sounds like a scene from Louie.

I've read around 15+ issues of Saga. I now it's something more. But I dislike covers like that. It's like the recent "Pewdiepie deleted" his channel bullshit articles. You know he didn't, I know he didn't, but they still it's irritating to see something like that. And I don't think the people that would fall in that crap would read Saga.

>"Pewdiepie deleted" his channel
He did? Why?
>>88335068
>and Space Usagi to complete the series.
I think they're reprinting Yokai, Sensho, and Space Usagi together in one of the large-format Dark Horse trades to fill in the time before the next UY Saga volume is released.

He said that when he'll reach 50mil subs he will delete his channel. He reached it and deleted another random channel he had. He "technically" deleted his channel. And almost everyone writes clickbait articles about it.
Aaaaand I missed the streams again. Curse my poor memory and short attention span!

According to Facebook's "trending news" that it feels I should absolutely know about, he said he'd delete it if he reached 50 million likes or something. I don't get YouTubers, man.
>>88335132
That's what I mean though. If the cover was The Will going to town on The Stalk, then that would seem like a suspicious bait and switch meant to get a certain seedy group to buy the book based on the cover.
This cover is of a breastfeeding baby. I don't know many people who would start jerking off to that.

Youtube is being weird with their algorithms again.

What's the name of that collection?

Oddly, I now seem to be unable to find the article in which it was announced.

Alright, I did some finagling and found the post about it archived. Here's what was posted back in October during, I believe, a solicits thread.
>So, apparently since Saga almost caught up to the current run of the comic (2/3 trades that will combine into the next Saga tome are already out and the last one will follow shortly), the next thing on the agenda is re-releasing all the side stories and spin-offs in one big book.
>This includes Yokai (in color!), Senso and, fanfares, complete Space Usagi (sold out ages ago and costs an arm and a leg on Amazon). All those will be published in a Usagi Yojimbo Legends collection, coming out in a few months.
>Who else is glad?
Crap. I'm out of money on my gift card. Now I need to figure out how much I can spend this time.

>Friend doesn't want to get into pops
>Only has pops on his wishlist.
Dude. Seriously.
I also found this, which is awesome to see from start to finish.

A tale as old as time...
Is anyone going to make a new thread?

Don't worry, you can have Hanukkah instead.
Light flames, get gifts 8 days in a row, and instead of having to remember carols, you can just make noises when other family members say the stuff in Hebrew, most people won't notice the difference.

8 gifts in a row...Feels like I'm a kid again, since Children's Day, Christmas, New Years and my birthday were really close, I would get presents for each one. Now it's like "Get some money" and we're done. I don't mind the money, since I can do stuff with them, but not getting a thought-out present feels sad.
>>88338480
Speaking as someone who has always been eclectic, I've rarely gotten thought out gifts. Even as an adult people often still ask me for a list.
When an aunt and uncle had a tiny little TARDIS in the bag with my gift I was quite surprised.

Christmas >>>>>>>>> Hanukkah
>>88338537
I have many interests, it wouldn't hard to buy me something. Even asking for a list, I wouldn't mind if they did that.

Netflix is pretty good for that stuff currently, at least in Canada.
