Yeah, Cars must be one of their most successful franchises ever for merchandise, so I don't doubt that a third film was commissioned with the $$$ in mind.

What is exciting is that it means they pretty much have free reign to tell whatever story they want and if the teaser is anything to go by, they're gonna have fun with it.

Not in the sense that they're making it thinking that the parents will line up to take their kiddies and thus make Frozen levels of bank, no.

But in the same sense that Cars I and Cars II were clearly little more than long commercials for toy cars? I mean, DUH.
