Possibly. But it doesn't make sense why she would be in her casual wear on the cabinet. I feel that she became a princess when she won the race & now every time a character comes in first in Sugar Rush everyone accepts them as the new ruler.

I could've sworn I wrote a sequel idea just like this.

Long story short, Vanellope gets trapped in a mobile phone/handheld and is taken to a teen's house where she finds out she used to be the love interest in a platform game (with Taffyta as the main character.) The villain of that game is actually an artistic guy who shows her art games.

Naturally, the guys at Litwack's plan a rescue mission, while the latest game they travel to reach the house is a survival-horror with a juggernaut enemy escaping along with them. But by the time they reach, they and Vanellope find out that the PC she's on is infected with viruses that can delete data. However, once they're defeated, Vanellope shows she's insecure over her role (she was going to get patched for being a glitch at Litwack's) and wanting to make a name for herself. The rescue crew agrees to let her go, but Taffyta stays behind due to programming as her love interest.

But big surprise, Vanellope finds she's infected with a virus dissolving her on the inside, so the villain of Sugar Rush/art game fan takes her to Litwack's to assist. However, and this is where things get crazy, Vanellope's infection lets loose a bunch of viruses into Litwack's to run loose. Turns out the guy who wanted to show Vanellope art games was really a Trojan Virus trying to break into Litwack's like he did the PC. Long story short, the video game cameos and heroes save the day by trapping the Trojan and his virus crew onto Litwack's PC, which is running an anti-virus that eliminates them. Vanellope goes through fake death when she asks to be put back at Sugar Rush for burial, and she finds the patch made her glitching official, giving it a dedicated effect. They hug, cue ending narration.

There's more to it, but I have it all in a document file. It's kinda big, and I came up with most of it while I was sleepy as hell.

I never saw it that way. I thought it was implied the game had some kind of half-assed backstory, and she was always supposed to be the princess. Now that I think about it, I can't remember if there was anything in the movie that contradicted your theory though.

Maybe the casual wear is an alternate costume that you can unlock.
