Don't think it necessarily means that the accords also restrict SHIELD's operatives
>>
>>88288781
He still made the webshooters himself. All Tony did was give him a rubbery costume with web-pits and a glorified flashlight.
>>
>>88288774

>>
Is the Ferry's name visible in the trailer? I think I go on that one.
>>
>>88288651
Nobody knows who Spider-Man is. That's probably part of the reason Tony wants him to keep it low-key on a street level.
>>
Every single time /co/ gets hyped up for these and every single time they turn out ot be meh at best.
>>
>>88288781
Peter has always been younger, and more inexperienced than Iron Man or Cap, and he's always looked up to them.

You ask me, this iteration makes perfect sense, considering Peter is fucking 15 and that he's been active for weeks/months in contrast with TONY FRIGGIN STARK's superhero career.

A mentor figure usually enrichens the story, also. Just ask my homeboy Luke.

I don't see any detriment to this. It might even get to the point when Pete and Tony clash over something, again making the story more complex.
>>
>>88288781
Are you seriously not getting the vibe from the trailer that it's going to be Peter doing his own thing after he's fed up with Tony's shit?

There are multiple times he's shown with his homemade costume. Wouldn't be surprised if Peter disobeys Tony and loses his support, then has to work alone.
>>
>>88288868
I don't see this being meh, its an actual MCU spider-man, not a sony cash grab spider-man or a raimi retarded spider-man

>A friendless and broken Tony trying to live vicariously through an up-and-coming hero unaffected by the deal with the devil he made.
>>
>>88288515
I'm not really a fan of how involved Tony is, but other than that I do dig the teen movie vibe.

Keaton as Vulture actually looks like a good villain, which is a rarity for these films.
>>
>>88289092
>>A friendless and broken Tony trying to live vicariously through an up-and-coming hero unaffected by the deal with the devil he made.
Basically. At this point in the tale Tony is at low as he gets, and Peter is the only positive thing he can hold on to.
>>
>>88288888
So many 8s
>>
>>88288651
>>88288661
Weren't the Accords just to stop the Avengers from interfering on the sovereign soil of other nations?

Spidey is a solo agent and he's, for the most part, restricted to NY. He's a problem for the police, not the UN.
>>
>>88289113
I like it better that tony is teaming up, makes their world more alive, since team ups arent reserved for the avengers, it gives the feeling that all the characters live in the same universe, and freely interact
>>
>>88288593
Uh you do realize that's entirely the reason why Bendis create Riri instead of just using Warmachine's Niece right? (Bendis not knowing she exists not withstanding) I mean yeah it's an open secret Marvel has shit royalty policies (Lein Wein has gone on record that he's made more money on fucking Lucius Fox than he ever did on Wolverine) but money's still money.
>>
>>88289134
He was seen involved in an Avengers scuffle in Germany. That probably puts him on a watchlist at the very least.

Unless that footage of him and Giant-Man was just placeholder for something else Peter is watching.
>>
>>88288515
If i wouldn't like Iron Man i probably would be angry right now considering how much he will appear in this Movie. But since he is my second favourite Superhero in Marvel i'am all for him being in the Movie
>>
>>88289140
I get that, but I feel it can also make the stories feel less like their own, if you get me.

I'm fine with Tony having a presence, but the trailers make him seem a bit too major in the story.
>>
>>88288994
Which explains why he had no faith in Winter Soldier or GotG.
>>
>>88289140
>>88289182
I will say though, to be fair, that if Marvel had the F4 I probably wouldn't be upset with Reed Richards having a similar role, so part of it is probably just that I'm a bit burnt out on Iron Man at this point.
>>
HOLY....i want more
>>
>>88289182
>I'm fine with Tony having a presence, but the trailers make him seem a bit too major in the story.
I doubt Tony would be in there much. It's just that his position is exaggerated in trailers to tell the normal people "this is a DIFFERENT spiderman from all the other ones!!!!"

Remember that most people don't know anything about the Sony film deal.

In any case, Tony always felt lonely about not being amongst geniuses. He made a friend with Banner but Banner had left now. And there is no doubt there is long term plans of Peter going to university and eventually started working for Tony as an employee. It is all for the next decade of films.
>>
>>88288515
I like how they included the aluminum capstone of the washington monument
>>
>>88288515
The Trailer wasn't amazing but i'am both surprised and happy they used a Song like that. After all its not what you usually hear in a Cape Movie

>>
>>88289238
I liked the trailer, but you have to go back.
>>
>>88288515
>Did you like it?

Spider-Man looks fucking awful. Wearing a cheap velvet costume with a big deformed head. A huge downgrade from Civil War. In the promo art materials he still looks great but in the movie it'll be shit.

Aside from that, I liked it. Keaton is scary. I just didn't like Tony Stark being Peter's know-it-all and Peter being way too childish.

Look at this promo art. The suit looks good, it has a good texture and the mask looks like it's actually being worn by him and not a fucking huge deformed helmet. The eyes are also 2D, not 3D (projected forward).
>>
oh boy I can't wait to see Keaton wasted like every other villain for the past like 20 movies
>>
>>88288515
That's immersion breaking, those Avengers looked really convincing.
>>
>>88289322
Now look at this. This is why his head looks awful and the eyes too. They nailed it in CW making him look like he popped up straight out of the comics. They just needed better CGI and it'd be good to go. Instead they went this route and his costume looks like a terrible cosplay. Even Garfield's one in TASM2 looked less cheap even though it had many cosplay qualities to it (like the boots).

I'm pretty neutral to the movies but yeah, this is my tipping point too and it bothered me on civil war as well. I don't mind a protegé thing going on because a Parker and Stark dynamic practically writes itself and makes them big bucks, but not from the ground up. Spidey should be an amateur newbie yeah, but him relying on stark tech is just pathetic.

I'm really starting just hate the entire visual and design aesthetic of the MCU.

So much of this trailer reminds me of the Joss Whedon broadcast television-tier shit we saw in the Avengers.
>>
>>88289401
He's not relying on him.

He literally just got his costume from him.

And if you haven't noticed, this film is starting sometime after his origin, because we've all seen it a thousand times.

They better not put too much high school bullshit in it.
>>
>>88289412

>>88289359
But you apparently don't remember comics since Spidey holding or supporting the weight of large falling structures ( with or without webs ) and putting his life in risk to save civilians is a staple in his day to day hero life. More so than any other Marvel hero.
>>
>>88289275

I don't care nor I want to see his origin again, I'm just saying Tony Stark doing all these things for him ruins the character of Peter Parker and he has no business being in a Spider-Man film other than maybe a cameo at best. RDJ takes up like a third of the trailer for fuck's sake

It's not just the special effects, it's the cinematography and mise en scène. The action of the airport scene in Civil War was enjoyable, but the environment that they fought in was unengaging and flat. Look at this shot, for example. Visually, nothing is really suggested about the fight except 'there are two groups that are going to fight'. It's serviceable, but not particularly interesting.

Compare that with the cinematography of, even within the MCU, Guardians of the Galaxy, which actually utilizes a lot of visual storytelling.

Civil War particularly also had a very bland and as >>88289558 said grey colour palette. Again, compare it to Guardians, where the colours are beautiful and dynamic. Civil War isn't necessarily a bad film, but I wouldn't call it visually engaging in the slightest, which in a visual medium like cinema really damages the ability of the film to establish tone and immerse the audience in atmosphere

I love Raimi's design, but I'd like to see a more 'evil super-scientist' look this time around. Maybe a labcoat or even, if they're crazy enough, an attempt at adapting that orange and green armour from the 90's.

They'll probably take after Ultimate, though.
>>
>>88289731
>mask IS a big oddly shaped helmet

Fix'd.

In Civil War he looked like a pro. Now it's a cheap, terrible cosplay. Not even cosplayers would commit the mistake of now showing the webs. The only reason why he was cartoonish in CW is because of the CGI but they could have improved that for this movie.

It works because it's a change from the spandex costume of the comics while still being visually distinctive and even conceptually appropriate (the jacket having a big neck scruff).

To be honest, changing characters from all wearing flat-spandex in the comics is good, the issue is when it's just for a generic tactical look instead. This is a change that actually makes sense for the character. The only reason that you don't see costumes like this in the comics is because a lot of artists are lazy and don't like branching out beyond skintight stuff, because they don't want to go to the effort of working out how clothing moves on the body.

Oh, dear, sweet anon. You haven't realized it yet. You're getting old. You might even be old. The things that you love and that are important to you, your nostalgia. It's old.

Empire came out in 1980. That's thirty-six God damn years ago. Roll back thirty-six years from 1980. That's 1944. Movies like Arsenic and Old Lace or Double Indemnity came out in 1944 and I can guarantee in 1980, they were considered old and classic films.

Hermione's mother is described as white

Characters who are black are pointedly described as so at some point to let you know (as you assume whiteness in a British school by a British author).

Hermione, after coming back from a beach vacay, she is described as becoming brown. Kind of odd to describe your character who you don't preconceive being white as gaining a tan.

J.K. Rolling personally made a doodle of the Harry Potter characters and Hermione was drawn white.

And your argument is bullshit, black people don't turn pale when alarmed, and it's not a figure of speech either.

I don't give a fuck that Hermione was cast as black in the play. I think it's a little weird and silly, but I'm not affronted by it. J.K. Rolling trying to backpedal hard and swear she never thought of Hermione as white is laughable, backhanded, and affronting though.

>August 2009, fellow Harry Potter star Joshua Herdman announced that Waylett would not return for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, or for the final film in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. The role of Waylett's character in the plot was taken over by Herdman's character.[5][6]
>On 7 April 2009, Waylett and a friend were pulled over by police after Waylett took a photograph of the officers' car as they drove past.[7] The officers then searched their vehicle, finding a knife and eight bags of cannabis.[8] Other images on the camera led police to Waylett's mother's house, where additional cannabis plants were discovered being grown.[7] Waylett was charged a month later for possession of the drug.[9] He appeared in court on 16 July and pleaded guilty to growing the plants in his mother's home, but claimed that they were for his personal use and not for distribution.[10] On 21 July, he was sentenced to 120 hours of community service.[11][12][13]
He couldn't return for the role, he wasn't blackwashed. Also aren't at least six of those antagonists/villains with white heroes?

I think there's an interesting dynamic between Tony Stark and Peter Parker that you rarely pick up on in the comics. I mean you got this egotistical billionaire who practically bought his superpowers and, at least in the MCU, has no problem bragging that he's really Iron Man. Then you've got this kid with real super powers that's basically destitute who is terrified of revealing his identity simply because of how it could hurt his beloved aunt. Peter would love to have the money, and Tony would love to have the family. Also watching this trailer I get a sense that Downey Jr.'s trying to pass the torch as a central figure of the MCU.

It's better to save Goblin for down the line, so he can face off with a more experienced Spidey
>>
So what will The Tinkerer's role be?
>>
>>88291285
Him and his friends... they don't have star wars nostalgia. They like anime and stuff like Attack on Titan. He won't even watch LotR with me. Says it's boring and long winded. Just a different generation.
>>
>>88291264
Jesus wasn't a roman you fucking moron, he lived in a country reigned by Romans. Even then, italians are a lot less white than Hollywood makes it seem.

>Having Spider-Man's second villain as his first villain is lame.

I'd understand if you wanted to start on JJ's shuttle crisis or Chameleon, as both are strong stories that would make for good movies, but we both know you just want someone "cooler."
>>
>>88292398
Keaton's Vulture seems to just be a career criminal. Director described him as "just a normal guy who becomes a supervillain". He probably commissions Tinkerer to build the suit for him so he can take his crime to the super status. Or maybe he steals it from him.
He's probably also involved in the Shocker tech and the Chitauri laser the Avengers goons were using. He might be a major but background character who Spidey confronts once he learns where his newfound villains are getting their tech from.
>>
>>88292421
>italians are a lot less white than Hollywood makes it seem
Not really, I know an italian and he is not only white but ginger as hell. And hairy. He looks like an orangutan.

Well I think the tinkerer is a thing in this movie and that they are using a bunch of tech leftover from battles. Look at the scene where that guy shoots of some sort of energy blast. The source of the blast looks like a broken robot hand
>>
>>88292566
Have you not read any comics? The Tinkerer's whole deal has always been building and fixing the tech of other villains. Hell, that was the entire premise behind Bendis' Secret War.
>>
>>88292545

True, the Vulture made his own wings, but his business partner betrayed him and got the patent to himself.

actually it was originally fixing radios at a loss in order to turn them into spy devices for an alien invasion that he was collaborating with.

I just think the tony doesn't wanna watch Peter ruin his social life in a sense.
Look at where tony is rn, most of his friends hate him, his bitch left him, he's an errand boy for the UN.
He wants to protect Peter by giving him better toys but he doesn't want Peter to get in over his head, get hurt, or lose any of his friends.
I think it's obvious that tony is the one encouraging him to wear the mask.
He wants Peter to have a life outside of Spider-Man since he can't have a life outside of iron man because everybody knows he is iron man
