They're positing that there's more a mental block for humanity's inability to be peak human rather than just physical. Cass was born to two of the best fighters on Earth and began being trained in the martial arts when she was a newborn and denied vocal communication so she'd adapt to body language. So she fits into he theory because she wasn't raised specifically to pass those blocks at the detriment of any aspect of life that wasn't fighting.
