That's right. They had the great Launchpad and the pretty good Gizmoduck, but everyone else they created for the show were just the most boring stereotypical TV cartoon characters of the time.

The show was good because the source comics and the new character of Launchpad were good.

Gladstone is still good in the new comics (last year's Christmas special from IDW was hilarious). It would be great to see him in DuckTales, but in the old series they seemed afraid to make him too pesty and annoying, so he wasn't very useful as a character.
