Yeah, I'm not actually looking forward to this all that much. Mostly because of the "plot." Adrien misses his Mom, feels neglected and put off by his Father and said Father's mildly Scrooge-like behavior, so he transforms into Chat Noir and mopes under a Christmas tree in a public square somewhere in Paris. Natalie notices Adrien is missing which results in a missing person alert being issued. Then Santa Claus shows up and whatever. I mean, why is Adrien transforming so he can mope in a public square? Maybe it was a place him Mom used to take him during the holidays or something. That had better be the case, or else this plot is completely worthless.

The entire plot hinges on some nonsensical and random actions by Adrien. Santa Claus getting akumatized is a nice twist, I'll give it that. But the set up to that is just so random and contrived and just makes for terrible storytelling. Hopefully, the character interactions will make up for that. You know, like the entire show up until this point. But I can't help but feel that this is going to have a very rushed pacing even by the show's normal fast paced standards. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

I have this terrible sinking feeling that everyone else getting Miraculouses, especially Chloe given how much of a shit she's been, is going to end up hurting the show.
Plus, they seem to have way too many things going at once for a still relatively new property, from the cartoon to the movie to a bunch of specials and shit, feels like we might have another Wakfu situation coming on, where things just get too big and fail.

Yeah, that's my thought process honestly, Chloe can easily turn out to be enjoyable and such, or it'll be a hamfisted message about everyone getting redemption or second chances or something that generally cements the show as being as weak as some have said.

I don't even mind them bucking the status quo and whatnot, I even think Alya eventually getting the fox might be neat, but after all the bad shit she's done and when the creator himself has said that bad people don't deserve Miraculouses, it's kinda hard to see how they'll get out of that hole.

Exactly, this show does that way too much. Things happen seemingly at random so we can advance the plot and get to the good part that was produced first. It's as if the writers come up with a cool or interesting idea for a scene, storyboard it and everything, and then ask how that scene is supposed to happen. They come up with an idea they think is interesting, and then the rest of the plot is like a sort of "bridge" to and from that interesting scene. In this case, the whole thing with Santa Claus.

" Uh, Adrien gets upset and turns into Chat Noir before running off and then Santa comes to cheer him up before Ladybug shows up looking for Adrien who everyone thinks is missing."

No, he said that there are other ways to get superpowers in their universe. Yes, that might mean other magical artifacts unrelated or at least distinct from the Miraculous, but it could mean super science or some other source. He was really vague because I imagine he doesn't even know the specifics himself at this point. Just that the larger universe they live in is bigger than the Miraculous.

I don't think they have to, since they gave a sympathy angle with the anti-bug episode. I hope she's much nicer as a superhero but just as much of a bitch in school, similar to how Adrien changes from flirty to nice.

My guess is that Ladybug and Chat are tasked with finding new miraculous-wielders. Marinette makes the obvious choice (Alya) and Adrien either decides on Chloe, or she accidentally gets it and he's forced to roll with it.

There has to be some driving force putting 4 in the same classroom. It strains suspension of disbelief otherwise.
