First season was weak because of the formulaic nature of the episodes, and Tandy being unlikable to a point where he was impossible to sympathize with, but from the second season on it's been the best sitcom on tv and contains a handful of surprisingly effective dramatic moments. They're good voice ACTORS, they know subtler aspects of their voice, how to use certain timing and inflection to convey different emotions and personalities.
