Wonder Woman, I see the power of the Lasso being important here. Moreover, she'd be able to win by cooling it around her own wrists and preventing Freddy from altering the playing field by keeping her mind in a state of her own Truth. That or she gets help from Morpheus and Orpheus...or some Amazon meditative state. It's just a stretch for her to get involved with this mystery without just stumbling into it like an 800lb gorilla.

Superman, Clark Kent is investigating these strange deaths for a Story...and he basically gets fucked up what good. I'm not sure if Freddy is out and out magical enough to heavily damage Clark, or because he expects him to be human he doesn't initially use the force needed kill the Kryptonian because nothing he does to Clark actually can? I dunno.

Midnighter. Freddy has a very very bad day as he finds himself trapped in the fight brain.

Green Lantern. He has the best chance against Jessica until he pushes her rape survivor PTSD too far, and she goes full Willpower on him. The rest of them can take Freddy handedly in a battle of Wills. Just don't know how or why without them just stumbling in.

Technically Koumori's a protagonist, but in any other setting she'd be a villain. Hell, she sits squarely in the middle of anti-hero and villain protagonist as it is.

It's time stop for a limited time. Someone like Superman, for example, couldn't be beaten by Dio even if he's frozen in time because Dio can't hurt him. Flash has a reaction as fast as his speed, so when he hears Dio starting to shout "Za Warudo" he just gets out of range (he could even leave the city where Dio is and come back after the 10 seconds).

Someone already posted about Ur a little further up, and I agree with the assessment. He's a Sandman-tier villain and his particular situation (Dead God dreaming of being alive) make him Dream and Death's business.

Also while it doesn't have quite the same feel and scope in the relatively cramped cosmos of TES, Ur is an existence-level threat just by existing. Corprus was symptomatic of his solipsistic corruption of the world, making everything part of his divine flesh because of how fucked up his metaphysical condition was.

Add on that he literally cannot be meaningfully killed short of severing his ties to the Heart of Lorkhan, and the fact he was working on a rebuild of the Numidium (which is a whole 'nother, even more terrifying cosmic threat than he is), and this sounds like something for Dream to take care of.

Or, you know, find some way to get something like Sunder and Keening (with Wraithguard) into the hands of a cape and point them at the Heart. For all his cosmic power Ur's actual ability to affect things with his avatar is pretty minimal. It's less his actual capabilities that matter as much as the fact his mere presence corrupts reality.

Just don't let him finish Akulakhan unless you want all your Time to be in pieces and a giant golem to go around refuting things from existence.

The thing that made TES resonate with me way more than any other Fantasy is that its lore and history were both alien and sensible at the same time. I mean, how often have you gone into Fantasy and someone spouts a simplistic prophesy which turns out to be true? How often have people lived in their village of Heroville without anything happening? Most European countries have more exciting history than your typical Fantasy, including GoT/ASoIaF, which is basically Renaissance stereotypes write large upon an improbably large continent.

But in TES, you have all these different opinions about religion and history, just like in real life. And you read about it through literature and such available in the world itself. The fact that you can get secret knowledge from some unapproachable character somewhere, and to become privy to the knowledge of the world that way, always did more to engage me in the fiction than your typical "this is literally what happened" approach to Fantasy.

Not him, but Skyrim's main plot is a direct opposition of Morrowind's, in terms of theme. Throughout Morrowind's main quest it's made clear that your status as a legendary hero is ambiguous. You are literally the right guy at the right time, but that's basically where it ends in terms of hard confirmation. Many of the main quest people openly allude to this. Of course, this goes hand in hand with a system that lets you do anything you want, and where you go from someone who is killed by rats to a literal demigod who kills other demigods to power his new magical sword.

Skyrim, on the other hand, gives you legendary power right at the start with a completely straight-faced introduction of you as a reincarnated hero. I thought it kind of clashed with the fact that I was playing a thieving Khajiit. It's still an interesting story, but compared to Morrowind it's a little simplistic. Skyrim's main question is more -or rather, should be- "if someone is pre-ordained as a hero, does that mean they automatically are?" Because just like in Morrowind, you can be the world's biggest asshole. In fact, Skyrim encourages that style of play much more than Morrowind.

I enjoy both these presentations in their own rights, but Morrowind's felt a lot better while playing it. My Skyrim interpretation is more indirect. It's my question, rather than the game's question, though it pops up a few times. Morrowind subtly directs the player towards interpreting his own situation.

How could you forget the Hand?

Although the Hand is interesting. It was supposed to be the force that created everything. It's what drove Krona to go back in time to the big bang to find out who's hand it was, and during Crisis on Infinite Earths Anti-Monitor's hand became the hand.

So Anti-Monitor sort of became God. Sort of.

But Final Crisis made the multiverse the result of a flaw inside Monitor-Mind. It was no more created by Monitor-Mind than an infectious disease is created in your own body. He monitors called the people of the multiverse germ people for this reason.

So what is the hand now? One theory is that it is the filled hand (because its holding the cosmos) in opposition to the empty hand we saw in Multiversity. It is the hand that turns the pages of the comic in opposition to the hand that catches the turned pages. It is a personification of cosmic necessity, not cosmic purpose.

I know, which is partially my point. The Persona Cast at their weakest are able to stop/kill things on a universal level like Nyx and Nyralthotep - and they're the absolute weakest side of the MegaTen Multiverse.

Higher beings like Demi-Fiend, Aleph, Flynn, Seraph, Abel and others will shitstomp most of Marvel and DC. They're not exactly interesting characters on their own by virtue of being player inserts - and most of their respective casts aren't deep or compelling enough.

Which I agree with, except for the fact that Aleph is already ridiculously overpowered despite not being capable of using magic. It's also implied that YHWH wasn't even fully beaten and he came back to punish Aleph.

Demi-Fiend is arguably the strongest character in MegaTen and in his game he ended up killing both the concept of time, as well as the Kagatsuchi - an aspect of YHWH that was creating and destroying billions of Universes constantly IIRC.

It's directly stated that Philemon, Nyarlathotep, Izanami and all the other "Supreme Beings" in the Persona games are manifestations of humanity's collective unconsciousness. Nyarlathotep reveals this in Innocent Sin and Izanami reinforces it in Golden.

At the end of Innocent Sin, Tatsuya and the others hijacked the the same power that created Nyarlathotep - using to essentially reboot their entire universe. The high end stuff in Marvel and DC shitstomps most of Marvel and DC. Empty Hand killed atleast one other multiverse, and Darksied killed the multiverse until only Superman and nothing else remained (Nix Uotan fixed things).

The high-end SMT stuff would fall on the God Sphere where archtypical, primal lifeforms are generated (appropriate sense SMT gods are created by mankind's subconscious).

To give an idea of the power gap between God Sphere and Monitor Sphere the Monitors use nano-technology to explore the multiverse each powered by a baby universe. The God Sphere is to them a slide in a laboratory. A single shrunken, degraded Monitor vampire was able to kill God, Spectre, and all his angels (he even confronts Superman carrying Spectre's body). And another Monitor was able to snap his fingers and recreate everything.

And Monitors aren't even the most powerful thing in DC. That would be Monitor-Mind and 5-D imps who are both forms of pure imagination.
