Post Renaissance Disney is cancer killing industry. Whatever they do nowadays turns out lifeless, sterile, predictable and uninspired. And the worst thing is that it sells, while also developing cancerous trends in industry.

There is no new rising stars in western traditional animation. Old masters are either dead or retired. No one influential has interest in reviving it. While there are still some independent releases, proper feature-length traditional animation in West is likely to die sooner or later.

Super hero movies conveyor needs to slow down. Quantity rarely holds to quality, but somehow audience is still indifferent to it.

Someone must to put Star Wars franchise out of its misery. It's painful to watch as it's slowly dies in agony.

Soviet animation is unrighteously ignored. Despite being produced under very restricting system, soviets were somehow able to create quite a lot of amazing work that was expressive, innovative, experimental and captivating. Commercial dubs and translations are mostly atrocious and don't do justice to the original.

Live-action is the worst medium for capes and all the live-action superhero output so far has been mediocre at best, awful at worst.

AtLA is grossly overrated.

The Head and Aeon Flux deserve more love.

There is nothing wrong with anti villains and anti heroes,the problem is that writers put characters in the wrong role.Some villains would be better off as anti heroes or anti villains. Modern Russian animation is produced to make revenue and result is what we can see today.
Soviet economy was economy of plans. For example if there is a plan to make a 100 teapots, that means you must produce 100 teapots simply because party decided that it is optimal quantity of teapots for country. In same manner party produced a plans to make a certain number of animated hours. You could do whatever you want, but you were obliged to do your norm. As long as you could overcome censors, you had nothing to be afraid. But what's interesting, sometimes censorship could give a pass to pretty risky satire. I don't know if such occasions were accidental. but it's still pretty impressive.
Basically you had animators that produced animation for the sake of it. No need to make it profitable and no need to sell it to specific audience. Aside from occasional specific requests from the party and some ideological limitations, there was pretty much a great creative freedom.

I watch very few cartoons past the late 90's. Compared to the quality WB and Disney artwork from then, the majority of modern cartoons all look like ass. Even purposely simplistic artwork from back then, like B:TAS, looks far better than the shit that comes out these days. I don't care how good people say the plot/humor/whatever is, I have no desire to watch a cartoon where it looks like the lead artists put minimal effort into it. I can read books if I want plot/humor, I come to animation to see GOOD art and animation. I know full well companies love this simplistic art/animation shit since it's cheaper to make. And thanks to faggots willing to tolerate it because "muh plot/humor/waifu", there's no longer any incentive to do decent art/animation. Why bother when the cheap lazy shit is just as popular?

I believe anyone who complains about "capeshit" are just butthurt that people don't like their favorite comic more. I believe this since the majority of non-"capeshit" comics are pretty damn boring. I can name a handful of decent ones compared to the large number of good cape comics. And we all know how special snowflake faggots enjoy playing the "My tastes are so much more classy than your tastes!" game. I shouldn't have to point out the inherent stupidity on attempting to claim superiority on 4chan.

Most of the modern cartoons/movies /co/ fixates on have been overwhelmingly mediocre or crap. Frozen was shit that was popular here because "muh waifu". SU is shit that is popular here because "muh waifu". Star VS, Ladybug, Loud House, all popular here just because "muh waifu". Zootopia? "muh waifu/husbando". Hell, the only reason people even bother posting about Treasure Planet is because robot-hand-guy-meme and "I wanna fuck the captain!".

Waifu-fags are cancer, and drag down every single discussion they get involved in. That shit should have never been allowed outside of /a/. Look at what they did to the Endtown threads.

After watching the marathon, I've realized zombie Simpsons aren't the crime against humanity that /co/ makes it out to be.
Every now and then I'll see glimmers of the golden age, especially in the more heart felt episodes and episodes that take place in the future.

Even though a LOT of the jokes fall flat, it still has that classic charm that the early seasons had.

And finally, the mod's phobia of anthro characters gets dumber by the year. It's to the point now where their focus on getting rid of slightly suggestive "furry" art is negatively impacting their moderation of the rest of the board. I've long since lost count of the number of times they've deleted clean art containing anthro characters (fan art for a comic/show/whatever), but have left up outright porn for other cartoons/comics up for hours and days on end. Many drawfags and visiting artists have been banned for posting art that isn't actually against the rules as they are posted. This gets even more stupid when you notice the majority of the current webcomics that /co/ enjoys are either furry or contain anthro characters. Would be nice to have mods that reflect the userbase, instead ours appear to be 2004-era SA goons. The massive shitstorm that came out of the /d/ /aco/ /trash/ incident was entirely a result of this and some bizarre pickiness about the origin of the art. Last I checked it wasn't the majority of the users who were complaining about where the art came from. That was just the mod team's personal views on the issue that lead to that mess.

I'm all for keeping r34 shit off of /co/. But deleting shit that doesn't break the rules just gives the users less reason to respect the rules.
