It's fantastic
>>
Kino
>>
>>88180665
Should have gone for /tv/ m8

Anyway its good, even though not a big fan of stop motion animation. The voice acting, music, story are all nice
>>
>stop motion
garbage
>>
I liked it. Pretty charming and fun.
>>
>>88180969
>not liking genuine artistic craftsmanship

do you prefer cgi over 2d animation too?
>>
>>88180996
Not that anon, but i wish we can keep getting this kind of alternative animation like this and perhaps a couple of 2D one. 3D animation is getting pretty boring tbqh.
>>
Best stop motion movie ever made imo or at least my favorite

>great character design
>well lit
>beautiful set/background design
>likable characters
>can appeal to every age
>consistently entertaining
>actually funny
>>
>>88181201
> can appeal to every age

This one's really important, because the movie does a great job avoiding the pitfalls of other animated movies when it comes to jokes aimed at younger audiences.

I liked it a lot

Excellent film. Doesn't talk down and pander to children, yet can be appreciated by all ages. Children will like the simplistic story, adults get all the Wes Anderson charm.
>>
It's in the Criterion Collection for a reason, one of which being that it's a Wes Anderson film.

It's still a damn fine movie regardless.
>>
Best scene for me is when bunce thrashes the room after getting off the phone.
>>
>>88180665
I cussing love this movie
>>
>>88180665
I love that scene when Ash's cousin cry underneath the toy train after being told to sleep on the floor. And yet after that Ash just comes down his bed and play the train to comfort his cousin. First clue that he is not just some angry emo boy. I like small moments like that.
>>
The only downside is how much Clooney phones it in. Otherwise, it's a masterpiece.
>>

>Criterion
The biggest indicator that this is kino

For some reason it's one of the only films by Wes Anderson that doesn't get on my nerves with repeat viewings.

Usually his method of pacing and shot setup just starts to annoy me, but for some reason it really works with Fantastic Mr. Fox.

HOT BOX!
>>
Cussing love this movie.

>Wes Anderson is crazy
>Decides that all voiced character roles must be acted out
>Not in stage, but IRL
>Has George Clooney et all digging a hole in the middle of nowhere to record their pain and effort
>Clooney and DaFoe's characters have a knife fight
>Somewhere out there is footage of Clooney in a tie and Dafoe in a beret having a knife fight over cider.
>>
>>88180996
Shame I heard the models weren't properly stored so they didn't hold up well over time.
>>
>>88180861
Likely only time I'll agree with that sentiment.
>>
>>88180665
>George Clooney
>>
>>88180665
Very charming and strangely comforting. There's definitely a bit of a problem with it being almost obnoxiously quirky just for the sake of being quirky, but it somehow isn't aggravating. It provokes a kind of exhausting wistfulness that, to my knowledge, the English language doesn't have a word for.
>>
Wes Anderson's next movie is stop-motion.

I am fucking hyped.

Excellent film. Love the work Desplat did for the recurring boggis/bunce/bean theme.

There is a certain charm with the fact that the models had "hair" and every time the artists re-positioned them for a frame, it would displace the strands, resulting in a static-like trail of footprints in the creative process.

The only part that kinda bothered me was the awkwardly placed wolf scene.
>>
>>88180665
Much better than I thought it was going to be.
>>
>>88180665
Underrated, both in term of story and animation
>>
Amazing OST. Criminal amount of fanart. Anyway, some news:

Wes Anderson is doing another stop motion movie.

Who's hype?
>>
>>88182599

Let me stop you right there:

His best movie was obviously Moonrise Kingdom.
>>
>>88180665
Charming
>>

Its cool to the paws.
>>

Agnes' puppet was photographed last year for a New York Times article about Wes Anderson's girlfriend. She's missing a button and has a few other issues.

Agnes was a cutie, but she really was only in the movie so Wes' girlfriend could have a role.
>>
>>88180665
I think one of the most heartwarming aspects of the movie was that their shared hatred of Mr. Fox brought Boggis, Bunce, and Bean together as partners after they spent years as close proximity rivals; giving them the deranged oomph they needed to go from boutique produce to full on mega profit corporate franchising.

Criminally underrated, splendid story and god-tier voice acting, I love Meryl Streep's voice in this.
It has but one flaw : No porn.
>>
>>88180665
It's fantastic.

>>88181315
Who's underneath those masks?
>>
>>88180665
I remember it being pretty good.
>>

>>88181997
I'm pretty sure they also used thrift store fur coats made of the actual animals as the fur for the models, so the organic nature probably doesn't help them stay fresh
It's a pretty common thing to happen unfortunately, most 80s movie puppets (Labyrinth/Dark Crystal/Star Wars/etc.) have disintegrated to dust
>>
>>88191588
That's too bad, although oddly fitting for the Skekis.
